Background: ROLE PURPOSE: Plan International is an independent child rights and humanitarian organisation committed to children living a life free of poverty, violence and injustice. The primary responsibility of the MERL & Accountability Officer will be assisting the Program Quality Staff including in coordination of data collection, interpretation and reporting on projects results to stakeholders and donors at all levels as well as monitoring project progress at the field level. In addition, he will be supporting field staff to carry out effective and appropriate monitoring and evaluation activities at the field level as per MERL plans and activities. The MERL & Accountability Officer will work closely with the MERL Specialist and Program Quality Manager at Country office in coordination and related Task Forth Team to contribute to the capacity building of Plan staff, LNGO staff and Community Committees to ensure all Plan’s Country office and Programme Areas level maintain high standards of accountability to target beneficiaries through the rolling out of the Child Friendly Feedback Mechanism (CFFM) and Community Engagement approaches and in line with international humanitarian standards.

Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
