 Background:

Coordinate all projects activities in Red Sea state



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight to ensure that projects are implemented as planned
  • Supervise Project Coordinators and ensure effective and efficient implementation of project activities in accordance with the agreements.
  • Support PCs to develop annual and quarterly work plans.  
  • Participate in development of new training curricula and policies for various project activities
  • Ensure the financial, and general operational protocols are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with donor rules, regulations and reporting guidelines and deadlines.
  • Maintain communication between staff and departments at Head Office in Khartoum to ensure program harmony and cohesiveness.
  • Give input to grant proposals in line with the country strategy.
  • In close collaboration with the Safety Focal Point, be responsible for the safety and security of staff, including ensuring that appropriate security information is regularly and appropriately disseminated to staff and that staff safety and security guidelines are followed.
  • Provide input to monthly, quarterly, annual and any other periodic or special reports as needed by the Head Office or donor.
  • Travels to the field sites (30% time) with occasional travel to other regions and countries at the discretion of the Supervisor.
  • Upon request from Deputy Programme Manager or the Programme Manager, provide information needed for the formulation of the country strategy.
  • Pick up ideas on funding opportunities and forward them to the DPM.
  • Participate in writing project proposals.
  • Give input towards the elaboration of project proposals.
  • In liaison with the PSM provide BoQs for project activities
  • Contributes to the strategic and organizational development of the organization.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant field; with six years’ Project Coordination, or related senior level filed management experiences in a multi-sector, multi-funded relief and development programs; including experience with a Contractor or international NGO.
  • Highly Prefer: Master’s Degree ; and at least 4-years’ experience at the level of a program manager responsible for multi-sector integrated relief and development program is desired.
  • Familiarity and experience working with UN and in particular UNHCR, UNICEF and CHF/SHF.
  • Previous experience living and working in conflict/transition and/or humanitarian crisis environments, and proven experience in supervising complex, high-speed, and challenging field operations in developing countries.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in establishing systems and overseeing project start-up and expansions, manages growth under limited time constraints while adhering to the Project Cycle Management.
  • Strong skills in managing a diverse team, including hiring, supervising, and training national personnel.
  • Experience with program development, implementation, and comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning.
  • Financial management experience, including budgeting, financial management (tracking, reporting, and accounting), and procurement.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory; knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not required.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing grant proposals and reports.
  • High proficiency in computer programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Skype and popular online social media, platforms and mobile apps.
