Established in 2015, the Institute for Reproductive Health and Rights (IRH&R) is a not-for-profit professional institution operating as a social enterprise committed to promoting the reproductive and sexual well-being of all Sudanese people with special attention to women, girls, youth and minorities.

• Understanding and using a survivor-centred approach in addition to applying the GBV Guiding Principles in all IRH&R projects
• knowledge of and implementation of a multi-sectorial response to GBV (including health, psychosocial support, security, and legal response), applying the principles of case management
• Knowledge of current GBV prevention theory and identifying appropriate GBV prevention and behaviour change strategies at different stages of implementation
• Understanding ethical issues with regards to collecting & managing data and conducting ethical safe GBV assessments
• Provide technical support in health aspects of the implementation and coordination of prevention and response to GBV;
• Write programme reports, proposals, oversee budgets; 
• Facilitate ethical safe GBV rapid and comprehensive assessments;
• Develop and improve monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for the GBV programme,
• Work collaboratively to integrate GBV prevention and mitigation with other IRH&R programmes;
• Facilitate capacity building of staff, partners and others on GBV, case management and Do No Harm principles:
• Facilitate mid-term and end-term review of IRH&R GBV projects; 
• Link up with relevant in country protection clusters, GBV sub-clusters, Health cluster, and MHPSS working groups; and
• Other tasks as delegated by supervisor.

• Bachelor’s degree in social science, Psychology, Public Health, gender studies, Social Work, Nursing, Midwifery or other related degree
• Master’s in above fields is an asset
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ professional experience related to GBV prevention and response in Sudan
• Experience with developing and implementing GBV programmes, particularly related to the health sector;
• Solid experience in training and capacity building, particularly using participatory approaches and methods in and for training related to different components of GBV programming; Psychological First Aid, Caring for Survivors/Caring for Child Survivors (or similar), GBV Coordination, Case Management, Clinical management of rape, FGM, Early Marriage, SGBV
• Knowledge of international standards, best practices, key international policy processes and frameworks related to GBV prevention, protection and response;
• Experience with working with civil society actors;
• Believes in gender equality and applies, promotes and integrates gender analysis into programming
• Experience of GBV programming in both development and humanitarian aid is very much appreciated
• Fluency in Arabic and English language.

This is offered as a full time position, with a three-months assessment period, but number of office days and hours of work may be negotiable
