Video and Film Production Specilalists

 Background:

This project contributes to empowering rural communities, women included, with basic literacy skills and sheep and goat breeding skills in North Kordufan and White Nile states in selected communities covered by the ILO’s CAPISUD project under the supervision and close collaboration with the TREE committees at state and locality levels. It further aims to support the National Council for Literacy and Adult Education to enhance the Community Learning Centers (CLC) in Sudan as well as promoting sustainable options to improve literacy among women in North Kordufan and White Nile states. This project intends to provide technical skills to communities organized by the TREE committees and create TREE Community Committees (TCC) in each of the targeted communities to inherit the CLCs and downstream the local and state TREE committees to community level. The project will provide education to the community members within their reach at their location by providing literacy classes using REFLECT. This methodology will be adapted to integrate sheep and goat breeding during the first 3 months of the implementation of the course. The project also aims at supporting the Supreme Council for Vocational Training and Industrial Apprenticeship by providing a technical training program targeting rural communities on how to improve their sheep and goat production.

This project contributes to Contributing to the SDG targets 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.a.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Tasks for project: Strengthening ILO TREE with Sheep & Goat Breeding Skills

Under the general authority of the Head of UNESCO Khartoum office, and the direct supervision of the Programme Officer of the Office, the contractor shall perform the following tasks:

  • Conduct field visits for filming purposes.
  • Participate in the storyboard design for the audiovisual materials workshops.
  • Record videos of the training of facilitators in North Kordufan – Al Obied city in July 2021.
  • Documentation of the training of facilitators on Sheep and Goat Breeding Courses in North Kordufan and the promotional materials used.
  • Develop videos of recording the Sheep and Goat Courses experts illustrating the content of the courses (29 units, each unit is divided into 4-6 topics, duration of each topic is 5-10 minutes) pre and post implementation of the training program.
  • Integrating the supporting materials links in the audiovisual materials developed.
  • Develop a video from the above recorded videos, one video for each topic (29 units, each unit is divided into 4-6 topics, duration of each topic is 5-10 minutes) that starts with the name of the topic and the associated logos followed by the recording of the expert / trainer and the supporting links related to the topic.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Directing, Videography, Film or any other related field

 

Work Experience

  • Minimum 7 years work experience in media production/directing.

 

Deliverables

1st 

  • To submit to UNESCO Khartoum, raw videos developed on Sheep and Goat breeding and documentation of the training of facilitators in North Kordufan.

2nd 

  • To submit to UNESCO Khartoum, 50% of the videos after production.

3rd

  •  To submit to UNESCO Khartoum, the remaining 50% of the videos after production.

 

Skills/Competencies

  • Strong writing and communication skills in English and proven ability to effectively articulate planning and issues to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge about UNESCO activities and advanced video production.
  • Ability to travel by taking part in field visits for video production as required.

 

Languages

  • Excellent knowledge (oral and written) in English and Arabic.
