Job Summary:

As a member of the West Darfur Emergency Responseproject team, the Project Officer for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)will monitor and report on all project activities Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

 

This position is dependent on funding.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Contribute to development of project MEAL system and promote project compliance with CRS and donor MEAL policies and procedures. Conduct regular monitoring and data quality assessments.
  • Support development of data collection tools, project databases, and reporting formats.Leadquality data collection, analysis, and management activities.
  • Orient and train field staff, partners, and other MEAL agents on project MEAL system and conduct of field-based MEAL activities.
  • Support project accountability and learning through coordinating project evaluation activities, managing feedback and response mechanisms, and facilitating reflection sessions.Assist with development or review ofproject reports.
  • Complete project documentation for assigned activities. Assist with identifying information forcase studies and reports on promising practices.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor degree in a related field, such as operations research, quantitative analysis preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experiencein the field of MEAL. Work experience in a similar role for an NGO will be strongly preferred.
  • Additional experience may substitute for some education.

 

Required Languages–Fluent written and spoken Arabic and professional level of written and spoken English required.

 

Travel- Position is based in El Geneina, West Darfur. Must be willing and able to travel up to 80% to project areas in West Darfur.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Observation, active listening and analysis skills with ability to make sound judgment
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and community members
  • Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent data collection, management, and data analysis skills strongly preferred.
  • Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data preferred.
  • Experienced user of MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in use of digital data collection tools such as Kobo or CommCare preferred.
