 Background:

DT Global (DTG) is an implementing partner for USAID Project – Toward Enduring Peace in Sudan (TEPS).



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

The Communications and Media Specialist will support in TEPS communication and outreach efforts. He/she has the following responsibilities.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work in TEPS operated regions (Blue Nile, WKS, SKS, Darfur, Kassala, Gadrif, Abyei and Red Sea) and document success stories/photographs/Reading materials of selected grantees through interviews with program beneficiaries
  • Provide photography and short videography of multiple grants based in TEPS operation areas and document success story for promotion
  • Photographs/Videos:
    • Photos/ videos/reading materials will be used in USAID TEPs publication materials, website, social media platforms, campaigns etc.
    • Photos should be of high quality and resolution so that they can be used for various purposes on different mediums.
    • Photos should include various visual perspectives (close-up, medium range, long distance), in both horizontal and vertical formats.
    • Photos should contain caption information (file info and/or caption list).
    • DT Global has the first selection rights to all originals taken on this assignment.
    • DT Global has copy and sue rights for any violations and or use the materials in public platforms without obtaining DT-Global permissions.
    • DT Global will provide assistance to project locations and permits when required. A letter confirming that the photographer is on assignment could also be provided

  • Photographs and Success Stories
  • Interviews/Quotes and Short promotional videos highlighting selected grants from the regions

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or other related field required
  • Minimum of two to four years’ relevant professional experience as a photographer/videographer
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic
  • In-depth Knowledge of the communities where TEPS is operating and the ability to identify events and activities that would lend to storytelling about the TEPS project.
  • Advanced knowledge of social platforms, emails, photography, AV production and strong creative writing skills.
  • Very good knowledge of the traditional and social media environment in Sudan
  • Very good knowledge of the cultural, socio-political and humanitarian environment in the Sudan
  • Well organized and capable of working independently, while seeking advice and sharing information when needed
  • Ability and readiness to work for extended periods in the DTG’s areas of intervention in Sudan
  • Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point and preferably
