Background:
DT Global (DTG) is an implementing partner for USAID Project – Toward Enduring Peace in Sudan (TEPS).
|
|
Duties and responsibilities:
The Communications and Media Specialist will support in TEPS communication and outreach efforts. He/she has the following responsibilities.
Specific responsibilities include:

Work in TEPS operated regions (Blue Nile, WKS, SKS, Darfur, Kassala, Gadrif, Abyei and Red Sea) and document success stories/photographs/Reading materials of selected grantees through interviews with program beneficiaries

Provide photography and short videography of multiple grants based in TEPS operation areas and document success story for promotion

Photographs/Videos:
-
Photos/ videos/reading materials will be used in USAID TEPs publication materials, website, social media platforms, campaigns etc.

Photos should be of high quality and resolution so that they can be used for various purposes on different mediums.

Photos should include various visual perspectives (close-up, medium range, long distance), in both horizontal and vertical formats.

Photos should contain caption information (file info and/or caption list).

DT Global has the first selection rights to all originals taken on this assignment.

DT Global has copy and sue rights for any violations and or use the materials in public platforms without obtaining DT-Global permissions.

DT Global will provide assistance to project locations and permits when required. A letter confirming that the photographer is on assignment could also be provided

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or other related field required
-
Minimum of two to four years’ relevant professional experience as a photographer/videographer
-
Proficiency in English and Arabic
-
In-depth Knowledge of the communities where TEPS is operating and the ability to identify events and activities that would lend to storytelling about the TEPS project.

Advanced knowledge of social platforms, emails, photography, AV production and strong creative writing skills.

Very good knowledge of the traditional and social media environment in Sudan

Very good knowledge of the cultural, socio-political and humanitarian environment in the Sudan
-
Well organized and capable of working independently, while seeking advice and sharing information when needed
-
Ability and readiness to work for extended periods in the DTG’s areas of intervention in Sudan
-
Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point and preferably
