Duties and responsibilities:
Control and ensure delivery of accurate financial information (Budgets, Forecasts and Actual results), in line with group accounting principles.
Ensure the statutory accounts preparation and completion process in line with governance and reporting calendar. Manage any issues that exist, or escalate as appropriate, for the external reporting of information.
If required; identify and initiate appropriate corrective action to prevent or address significant accounting issues.
Manage the preparation of cash flow forecasts for BAT Sudan ensuring accuracy of information and that forecasts are based on sound commercials assumptions.
Manage, as appropriate, all aspects of local financial environment, including cost center control.
Ensure BAT Sudan’s compliance with local laws and regulations (including tax, excise, and external regulatory reporting).
Play a key a role in all aspects of risk framework and control environment, leading cross functional teams dealing with control navigator initiatives and risk.
Act as escalation point for local team with GBS to ensure delivery of information is on-time in full (OTIF), and all issues are resolved.
Support the Finance Controller and Finance Director, as appropriate, with all ad-hoc requirements, including but not limited to strategy, internal financial communication and delivery against key priorities. The Finance Manager will be expected to step-up to the role of acting Finance Controller during periods when the Finance Controller is not available or is on leave.
To provide leadership for Sudan finance team. Manage the members of the team responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payables, GL Management, and Planning and Reporting.
Manage all aspects related to external audit within the job holder’s responsibility.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
*Minimum Qualification:
BSC degree in Accounting and Finance or any other related field.
Good knowledge in the practice of English language (Oral and Written).
Professional accountancy qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/CMA) is preferred.
*Skills and Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment.
Strong people management skills, both those under direct and indirect control.
Strong understanding of ERP system(s). (Preferably Microsoft AX and SAP).
A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically BPC. (Preferable).
Excellent analytical skills.
A good understanding of other functional areas, e.g. operations and marketing would be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills, proactive, persuasive and creative.
An ability to work effectively with all levels of staff within the company and external parties.
Ability to handle large volumes of information and present it in an accurate and relevant format.
Rational decision making and problem solving ability is essential.
Ability to work under pressure and keep to tight deadlines.
