Background: Sudan confirmed two cases of circulating Vaccine Derived Poliovirus type 2 on August 8 in South Darfur and El Gedarif states, additional cVDPV2 cases were confirmed in September, leading to a total of 38 cases in 13 states. The virus has also been isolated from sewage samples in Khartoum. The purpose of this consultancy is to extend human resource surge support to all states of the country in order to implement AFP surveillance and Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) immunization. These staff will support the Polio program on early detection of cases and enhancing immunity among targeted children to stop the outbreak in early possible time. As part of National Polio Emergency Response plan for cVDPV outbreak in Sudan in 2020, Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) – Expanded Program Immunization (EPI) is planning to strengthen states capacity and provide technical support to states by deployment of national experts to each states to support states in planning, monitoring and evaluation of Polio emergency response activities to help in containment of cVDPV outbreak and stop virus circulation by end of 2020, below the TOR of the National Technical officers for Polio emergency response. |

Duties and responsibilities: Work to be performed : • Support and coordinate with state team for the implementation of Polio outbreak response activities, including planning for the strengthening of SIAs, Surveillance and routine immunization and risk communication. • Follow up with the States Ministry of Health the implementation of response and containment activities for the outbreak. • Review and ensure quality updated & detailed campaign micro-plans with state and locality teams. • Ensure in place mOPV2 effective vaccine management requirements, good capacity and follow-up of guidelines. • Review and participate in the training plan (Surveillance and vaccines management of for the mOPV2) and provide capacity-building support to states and locality teams. • Support preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all Polio SIAs campaigns. • Coordinate preparation, analysis and synthesis of programme reports and reports for special activities within the programme, particularly on poliomyelitis eradication.
• Reviewing Supplementary Immunization Activities (SIAs) and Routine Immunization (RI) coverage for special, border groups and areas of population, refugees and nomads review and update EPI micro-plans to cover them.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: Specific requirements
- Qualifications required: University degree in Public Health or health related field.
• 5 years or more of relevant experience in Immunization programs.
• Strong management in outbreak response and campaign.
