It was established in the United Kingdom in 1985 in response to the drought in the Horn of Africa. Muslim Aid's Sudan Country office (MASCO) was set up in 1991 in response to the strategic need and to enable the continuation of effective aid work in the country. Currently, Muslim Aid is implementing projects in Kassala, Central Darfur and Red Sea State , Algazieera State , Gdarief State in Sudan.

 Background:

BACKGROUND:

Muslim Aid Sudan field office (MASFO) was set up in 1991 in response to the strategic need and to enable the continuation of effective aid work in the country. Muslim Aid current geographical coverage in Sudan includes, Khartoum, Kassala, Red Sea and Central Darfur States.

 

Job Purpose:

To manage the organization’s computer resources with the aim of maximizing the benefits of information technology in supporting the business objectives of the organization.

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  1. To devise and manage a budget for the running of the organization’s computer systems.

 

  1. To ensure the organization has suitable application programs for its needs.

 

  1. To maintain a register of all hardware and software in the organization’s possession at any given time and ensure that all proper licenses are secured.

 

  1. To manage the monitoring of systems including the network, items of hardware, efficiency levels, etc. and ensure remedial action including upgrades and expansions are taken when necessary to ensure the smooth running of computer systems.

 

  1. To ensure that user support needs are met in a friendly and efficient manner and that faults are dealt with effectively.

 

  1. To manage implementation of any defined special development projects within the agreed strategy, including systems in support of special events and campaigns.

 

  1. To ensure that the organization complies with legal requirements relating to the use of computer resources e.g. Health and Safety and Data Protection Acts.

 

  1. To ensure that all systems and procedures are adequately documented.

 

  1.  Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.

 

  1. Carry inventory of all IT equipment’s in the country

 

  1. Train staff in use One drive system and lead IT orientation to all staff and every new joiner.

 

 

 

 

2.           Database Administration and Development

 

  1. To be the in-house source of detailed knowledge as to how the database is constructed.

 

  1. To ensure the integrity of the data in the database at all times and the efficient operation of the system.

 

  1. To develop and enhance the functionalities of the database system as per department and staff requirements that has been approved by the management.

 

  1. To co-ordinate the acquisition and take-on of external datasets including Postcode Address File data and bought in name and address lists.

 

  1. To co-ordinate the exporting/communication of data files created from the database to other systems and external organizations including mailing files to mailing houses, etc.
