Background: The position holder is expected to provide overall technical leadership to CARE's livelihoods and resilience program in South Kordofan and, in particular, manage and supervise the Step Up to Empower Women and End Violence (SEEV) project for four months in Abu Jubeha and Rashad localities in South Kordofan as we are closing the project. The program is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In response to the inequalities faced by conflict-affected and poverty-stricken women and girls living in Abu Jubeha and Rashad localities, South Kordofan, CARE supports inclusive decision-making structures, engagement of men and boys to combat violence against women and girls, and economic empowerment of women. CARE works with Dutch Embassy, State Administration, and Ministries and private sectors such as DAL group and individual activists at the strategic level. The project works with NNGOs, microfinance institutions, traditional community leaders, women producer's associations, and community-based organizations (CSOs) at the local level. CARE will provide vocational training to women and other marginalized groups, enabling them to participate in the value chain, supporting economic empowerment, and providing psychosocial support; furthermore, through the Village Savings and Loan model, women will gain access to microfinance support. This multifaceted approach will engage the whole community to improve everyone's quality of life, ensuring that nobody is left behind. CARE and DAL Group reflect their mutual willingness to support women in developing their economic and social potential in South Kordofan State through Public-Private Partnership. The post-holder will ensure the maintenance of program management systems that ensure program and reporting quality, financial management, and personnel management, and timely delivery of program components according to the milestones agreed with the donor. The candidate applicant must provide close follow-up and support to the program staff in South Kordofan to implement the project's objectives and targets, technical and managerial needs. Strong oversight, follow-up, identification of training needs, project implementation preparation, implementation, monitoring, and reporting to CARE /donor standards are vital responsibilities |

Authority: Reports to the Head of Program and Operations based in Abu Jubeha Supervises two staff Contacts and Key Relationships: Works closely with the other Economic Empowerment Coordinator, Program Director, PDQ, Finance, etc Working Conditions: As stated in terms of the contract and the CI Switzerland HR manual. The position is based in Abu Jubeha, South Kordofan State, with a possibility of travels to other states depending on needs. |
