Founded in 2004 and with more than 250 staff worldwide, SAYARA is a leading organization providing services monitoring and evaluation, sociopolitical analysis, strategic communication, governance, countering violent extremism, disinformation, migration, and youth and education.


SAYARA is lookinng for Researchers on a State level experienced in conducting quantitative and qualitative research across Sudan ( All the 18 States of Sudan). Researchers responsibilities include reading and understanding of tools (quantitative and qualitative), train enmerators and act as Team Leader for a group of data collectors in one of Sudan’s eighteen States to ensure high quality data collection with relevant stakeholders.


The quality of the data collection will highly depend on the researchers review of data, which is why researchers are expected to have high attention to details.


 Duties and responsibilities:

Main duties of State Researchers:

  • Attend a training explaining the questionaire to be conducted, the context of the survey and the data collection time frame and process.
  • Allocate a team of enumerators to conduct surveys with respondents
  • Review the quality of the data collected in the field
  • Ensure that the number of beneficiaries surveyed is correctly captured and reported to the program associate
  • Report certain situations that may arise directly to the program associate
  • Respect the confidentiality of the information shared by respondents



 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Requirements and competencies:

  • Wide network of enumerators/ data collectors in the specified state
  • Previous experience in quantitative data collection specifically surveys using ODK, Kobo Collect
  • Previous experience in qualitative data collection(KIIs, FGDs and IDIs)
  • Act as a Team Leader for the field data collectors
  • Review the data collected by by enumerators
  • High attention to details
  • High level of punctuality, and s/he should be very organized
  • Willingness to work on the field
  • Respect for individuals from all nationalities
  • Familiarity with the humanitarian field, and a high level of cultural sensitivity
  • Respect for the importance of confidentiality
  • Ability to mobilize people
