Duties and responsibilities:
-
The Project Coordinator will report to the Emergency Response Program Coordinator. S/he will work collaboratively with the SPAD Manager, Area Health/nutrition coordinator, FSL/Livelihood Project Manager and other respective Program Implementation Managers in each of the project sites. He/she supervises a team of 2 project secondment staff from SMoH .

Project coordinator will be based in White Nile state 50% of her/his time in Ed-dwueim and 50%
-
Manage the project security matters and the affairs of the project partners.

Provide direct technical guidance during the project execution and ensure efficiency in the processes and effectiveness in achieving the planned objective in a manner to reach the desired outcomes and impact.

Ensure that Plan’s and the Donor policies and procedures are continuously adhered to in the project’s planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation phases.

Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Project Officers to ensuring that the global program quality framework and other relevant policies (e.g child protection, security and gender equality policies) are embedded within the PA day to day operations and staffs are competent, committed to move forward with their implementation.

Strengthening capacity for behavioural change communication for hygiene and health promotions.

Develop technical and strategic papers on how the project milestones will be implemented and approved by Project Manager.
-
Proven experience and skills in implementing projects on health, nutrition and FSL and livelihoods are essential, with special attention on community-based interventions for high impact.

Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, Nutrition and FSL and livelihood in those sectors including water –borne diseases.
Accountabilities
-
Working with the Project Manager and technical staff to review the project scope, definition and terms of reference in order to plan effectively.
-
Work closely with the Project Manager and technical staff to achieve program objectives and targets effectively and efficiently.
-
Help with activity verification and monitoring (stock and program quality) at supported facilities to ensure smooth, high-quality project implementation.
-
Facilitate coordination meetings, advocacy meetings and awareness raising sessions at the community level, together with the partner and community health and nutrition promoters.
-
Support in Identifying and assessing the benefits and risks associated with the project,develop a plan for delivering benefits, strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
-
Participate in conduction of situational analysis and other M&E activities as necessary under the guidance of the Sector lead and Program Quality Managers.
-
Ensure program targets are met using the M&E plan and logical framework.
-
Collect and compile project data regularly to submit to the project Manager, including case studies, success stories and photographs of facilities.
-
Provide regular updates on inventory of medical and non-medical items supported by the project (information / data collected through monitoring visits)
-
Attend external meetings if/when assigned to represent Plan International Sudan.
-
Improve the quality of Nutrition, health and FSL/Livelihood services delivered through priority setting, on-job training, and continuous monitoring.

Provide inputs for donor requirements in data collection and reporting for health, Nutrition and FSL/ Livelihood services.
-
Provide linkages with Health, Nutrition and Livelihood counterparts in other humanitarian organizations, local actors and within government structures.
-
Provide technical support to the program team in preparing and conducting needs assessments.
-
Participate effectively in project audits, reviews and evaluation.
-
Ensure that proper documentation of the project’s interventions and activities is maintained.
-
To be responsible for giving presentations about the project to key internal and external stakeholders to promote awareness of commitment to the project in the area of the health and nutrition.
-
Ensure the community-based activities such as nutrition screening, healthand hygiene education are done properly.
-
Build the capacity of partner’s staffs through proper coaching and training.
-
Prepare weekly, monthly and annual work plans for the health /nutrition and Livelihood project.
-
Ensure that Plan’s and the Donor policies, compliance and procedures are continuously adhered to in the project’s planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation phases.

Work with the partner to make sure quality narrative and financial reports are submitted to project manage on time.
-
Conduct site visits regularly to monitor implementation and submit monthly reports on project progress.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
-
Develop and apply project MER tools that allow (i) proper planning of project activities, milestones and reporting dates and (ii) and tracking of girls and children reached.

Ensure that lessons learned case studies are captured and properly documented and archived by carrying out regular project/program reviews.
Capacity Building
-
To identify the needs and support development of staff and partners to increase their competence project delivery.

To participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of staff
Representations
-
Management of project representation matters and ensures attendance of all relevant coordination forums and events at state levels.

Develop and maintain processes to ensure exert of high value liaison effort with Government Authorities, the donor, humanitarian community etc. on matters related to the project
Others

Any other functions and responsibilities of appropriate nature to project Management assigned by the supervisor

Internal Communication:

Project Manager – High level of Communication to report, seek approvals, sharing views to strengthen the program areas and to ensure continues support for the program.

Program Area Manager – High level of communication to support and provide hand holding support to understand the model and to respond to queries

Regular communication with program department in PA to share work progress and updates and technical follow up.

Minimum 4 years demonstrated experience focused on Health, hygiene promotion and Nutrition Project Management or related fields.

Demonstrated ability to work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including national and local government, donors, community-based organizations, and the private sector.

Established relationship with and/or substantive knowledge of Health/Nutrition and livelihood sectors and SHF
Essential

Advanced degree in a relevant field including international development, Public Health and Nutrition, BSC with an additional 3 years of relevant experience.

Spoken and written proficiency in English. Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

Salary and Benefits:
