 Background:

Purpose of the Role

Lab Assistant, she/he will work with clinic staff to process samples, perform tests, and record and analyze results. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of lab procedures and understand the importance of maintaining a clean workspace by following all lab regulations for health and safety. In addition to having strong attention to detail, you must be responsible and demonstrate excellent communication skills.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Highlights of Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for testing using various laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain all laboratory records.
  • Follow the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, and document your findings.
  • Stay informed with the latest industry trends, techniques, and best practices.
  • Document all activities, results and report back to management.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and work area.
  • Collect and prepare research and information needed for studies.
  • Classify and label samples.
  • Undertake basic administrative tasks such as filing and answering telephones.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Demonstrated attention to details, ability to follow procedures, meets deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Team-working skills.
  • Flexibility under pressure and in response to changing needs.
  • Good Written & Spoken in English.
  • Ability to speak and understand Local Language.

 

Specific Educational Qualification

  • Diploma in Medical Technology, Major-Laboratory Medicine.
  • Internship must be completed from a Government Medical college.
