Duties and responsibilities:

Receives, examines and processes requisitions; prepares bid specifications and other necessary documents related to the purchase of supplies, materials and equipment; prepares State requisition or locates source of supply, and places orders with appropriate bidder(s).

Compares costs and evaluates the quality and suitability of supplies, materials and equipment.

Interviews and corresponds with vendors; keeps informed of new products and market conditions and trends.

Confers with and assists officials of all departments to determine purchasing needs and specifications.

Corresponds with State entities to ensure University needs are handled expeditiously.

Maintains records on purchase price information on both open market and contract purchases and revises these as conditions changes; obtains quotations on open market purchases.

Analyzes purchasing trends to determine if an agency contract or statewide contract would benefit the University.

Assists in the supervision and training of less experienced buying personnel and generally is responsible for the supervision of one procurement assistant

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
-
Bachelor's degree in Economic, business administration, Engineering, Supply Chine
-
2 years’ work experience in Supply Chin
-
Good communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English; Ability to write reports in both English and Arabic
