 Background:

1. Summary:

The Programme Associate will assist the Programme Manager with the development and implementation of projects, including project plans, policies and solutions and contributes to issue resolution and escalation, research, analysis activities and planning and monitoring activities. Furthermore, The Project Associate directly impacts on achievement of project results by assisting the Programme Manager to adhere to project management methods and strategies, reduced risks, cut costs and improved success rates. This consequently reinforces the visibility and image of SAYARA as an effective service provider in project and Programmes services and management and strengthens its competitive position as a partner of choice in sustainable development and project services.

 

 

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

The Programmet Associate will be responsible for :

1- Project Implementation
2- Project monitoring and reporting
3- Stakeholder management, coordination and liaison
4- Knowledge management and innovation

1. Project Implementation:
a. Lead all administration and financial aspects of the projects In cooperation with the Country Director

and the Programmes Manager.

b. Maintain thorough knowledge of the projects, as well as an understanding of how that impacts the work.

c. Monitor, coordinate, and communicate strategic objectives of the projects.
d. Facilitate communications between SAYARA and the partners for project related issues.

e. Work with projects staff members to develop a greater understanding of the projects and any issues that arise.

f. Contribute to the development of project plans under the guidance of a Project Manager to develop future capability.

g. Compile reports about particular incidents, events, or updates about important issue for the project Proactively solve conflicts and address issues that could occur between parties.

h. Carry out any other duties and projects as required by the Project Manager. 
 

2. Project monitoring and reporting:

Provide substantive inputs to assist the Project Manager in the preparation of project reports and documents as follows:

a. Monitoring, tracking and reporting on the status of projects deliverables to ensure time, cost and quality metrics are in line with approved project plans for assigned projects.

b. Maintain compliance with endorsed project management methodology.
c. Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of project completion reports and ensure compliance

with contractual obligations.

 

3. Stakeholder management, coordination and liaison:

a. Support the coordination and management of communications.

b. Liaise and build relationships between SAYARA and Partners for the purposes of facilitating activities. c. improving the quality and relevance of information analysis

d. Participate in meetings with UN agencies, NGO’s and other partners as required.

 

4. Knowledge management and innovation:

a. Support the compilation of lessons learned as per defined reporting format.

b. Ensure that Local capacities are built at every level and opportunity for Project Support.

c. Contribute to the dissemination and sharing of best practices and lessons learned for planning and knowledge building.

d. Contribute to expertise in tools and techniques. 3. Reporting obligations

 

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

3- Desired Qualifications: 

·       Minimum Master’s Degree (BA with significant relevant prior experience may be considered) in social science, political science, international affairs, development, or other relevant field

·       Experience conducting fieldwork and applying research to support practical outcomes 

·       Experience writing user-friendly, evidence-based reports for use in development programs

·       Experience in monitoring and evaluation (humanitarian work and/or development programs)

·       Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision and to consistently meet deadlines.

·       Ability to work long-hours when needed and to take on tasks that may be outside of the express terms of reference.

·       Strong commitment to high quality work and integrity in all interactions

·       Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage appropriately with various audiences

·       Professional English language writing skills (a writing exercise will be part of the interview)
