The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a Swiss-based private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Our mission is to help prevent, mitigate, and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation.

 Background:

The current political transition in Sudan has evolved after almost three decades of authoritarian rule. Based on the new developments in the country, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) has initiated a project to support the ongoing political transition in Sudan. Under the new project, HD seeks to help in facilitating broad-based analysisamongcritical stakeholders, providing institutional support around political transitions to the civilian government and support political dialogue and mediation.

 

Reporting to the project Manager in Sudan,the Strategic Communications Consultant will support the development of HD’s strategic communication strategies in Sudan and assist in creating and managing social media pages for HD’s Sudan programme



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Further responsibilities will include:

  • Draft a social media strategy to complement the town halls;
  • Create and manage social media pages for HD’s initiative;
  • Explore additional social media and communications tools to increase the inclusivity of the consultations;
  • Draft a strategic communications strategy for HD’s efforts to support an inclusive and peaceful transition in Sudan.
  • Support strategic communication for government authorities if required

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

The successful candidate should have:

  • Good knowledge of the transition in Sudan;
  • Experience and knowledge of online communications and social media;
  • Versatile and strong writing and editing skills in Arabic and English;
  • Relevant university degree, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in designing and advising communication strategies.

 

Personality:
The successful applicant should have:

  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in teams as well as autonomously;
  • Can handle sensitive/confidential information, trustworthy and reliable;
  • Proactive and flexible.
