GIZ is looking for a qualified person to fill this position who can work at any duty station.

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

As a technical advisor forstrengthening the TVET framework structures,you are responsible for

  • Supporting the implementationof the project objectives as part of a small multicultural team;
  • Providing professional advisory services and coaching in the sector of organisational development and network management to project and partners in TVET sector
  • Building uppersonal and institutional capacities ofpartner organisationsand foster theirwillingness to develop and upgrade their performance
  • Cooperating with the project partners such as the Supreme Council for Vocational Training and Apprenticeship (SCVTA), the line ministries, vocational training centres, the craftunions and other TVET stakeholdersto effectively and independently implement project’s capacity development strategy
  • Representing the project at SCVTA in:
    • Working group Curricula
    • Working group State Council
  • Supporting the implementation of State Councils in Gedaref and Kassala
  • Supporting the development of strategies in the TVET sector
  • Preparing agenda and invitation, organizing and implementing meetings with project partners (SCVTA, Advisory Board, Ministries and other high-level organisations/institutions) and take note of meetings
  • Taking care of correspondence between VTFS and mentioned project partners
  • Enabling supportedpartner institutions to develop a plan for sustainable organisational structure in the field of TVET;
  • Build up partnerships and networks to promotefuture oriented vocational training in Sudan.

 

Specifically, your tasks comprise

  • Supporting the project partners in drafting and implementation of new demand driven curricula
  • Technical coordination with development partners including preparation meetings and events related to TVET oriented working groups, as well as project’s advisory board
  • Supporting project planning and the conceptual development including preparation, organisation and facilitation of planning exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, evaluation, communication and documentation;
  • Analysing lessons learnt and compiling best practices for project implementation;
  • Developing ready-to-use strategies, innovative initiatives and concepts, including guidelines, manuals and procedures which could be used by partner organisations;
  • Drafting reports, articles and other written documents in English and Arabic.

 

Other duties/additional tasks

  • performs other duties and tasks at the request of management

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • University or Technical College diploma (B.A. or Master) in technical field, alternatively in organisational development or comparable
  • At least 4 years of proven working experience in the TVET sector
  • Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge of theory and good practice in key areas:Sudanese TVET system, and Organisation development - particularly around change management and developing organisational culture;
  • Experience of, and commitment to, continuous organisational improvement and the ability to act as a change agent;
  • Strong coaching/mentoring skills;
  • Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement;
  • Proven experience in working within international teams;
  • Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
  • Excellent English and Arabic communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
