Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is a German non-profit, non-partisan, and non-denominational Organization, working in about 38 countries around the world and has been working in Sudan since 1998 WHH sectoral focus is humanitarian assistance, Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security (SFNS) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).

Managing and implementing programmes and projects on the basis of specified directives in terms of content, schedule and budget

As Head of Project, you will be responsible for the effective management and implementation of our projects in Kassala State, ensuring that activities are delivered on time, within budget and in line with Welthungerhilfe and donor requirements. You will oversee project coordination, planning, implementation and reporting, while ensuring the appropriate and efficient use of project funds. In close coordination with Welthungerhilfe's regional office and relevant partners, you will contribute to the successful delivery of the projects and their intended results. Through your work, you will contribute to strengthening civil society and improving access to services for marginalized communities in Kassala State. 

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement the project(s) in line with donor requirements and Welthungerhilfe standards, ensuring effective planning, monitoring, budgeting, logistics, finance, and administration.
• Continuously review and adapt project plans and budgets and report on progress, challenges, and risks to the Head of Program/Area Manager.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with donors and other relevant stakeholders across humanitarian, rehabilitation, and development programming, in coordination with the Country Office.
• Manage and recruit project staff in line with Welthungerhilfe's leadership principles, policies, and strategy, and ensure effective project office management where applicable.
• Ensure the implementation and appropriate adaptation of Welthungerhilfe policies, including the establishment and maintenance of the project's security management system and preparedness arrangements for potential crises and disasters. 
• Represent Welthungerhilfe with relevant national and international stakeholders and strengthen networks with civil society, government, academia, and other partners, in coordination with the Country Office.
• Support public relations and Welthungerhilfe's local visibility and accompany visiting donors, Head Office staff, and journalists or ensure appropriate representation when required.
• Contribute to country strategy development, strategic planning, and Country Management discussions, and take on other tasks relevant to the position as assigned by management.

Qualification:

Education:  Higher university degree in community Development, Social Sciences, or another related field.
Experience:  2-5 years’ professional experience on project coordination and management of project expenditure/ plans with international organization.

At least 4 years Project Management Experience in Sudan. Practical experience with proposal development, donor reporting with UN-funded projects especially UNHCR, FAO and WFP among others.

Experience in planning, leading and coordinating with other partners at the field level.

Advance knowledge on MS Office skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access) is mandatory.

Strong communication on spoken and writing English language is mandatory.
