Background:
We are seeking a proactive and solutions-driven logistics professional who will oversee the planning, coordination, and supervision of daily logistics operations, ensuring facilities, fleet, infrastructure, equipment, and technical services are maintained to the highest standards in line with MSF protocols to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted humanitarian operations in North Kordofan.
As the Base and Facility Officer for Hospital and Field, you will lead the day-to-day management of logistics operations, overseeing facility maintenance, fleet performance, technical installations, procurement support, and logistics personnel. Through effective planning, coordination, and continuous monitoring, you will help maintain reliable operational systems that enable the successful delivery of MSF medical activities in North Kordofan
Duties and responsibilities:
Supervising materials and goods orders and dispatch in order to ensure its rational use.
Checking and ensuring the maintenance of MSF premises and facilities, as well as the general water supply, electrical, walls, ceilings ect. and security conditions. In this sense, making inspection visits to assess the rehabilitation needs of facilities.
Performing maintenance of logistics equipment for cold chain, energy, IT and radio communications, in particular:
Inventories and the reallocation of equipment.
Fridges are working properly & monitored on regular basis
Communication equipment is in good working condition and always available.
Checking the quality of the work carried out on generators and electrical installations.
Tracking consumption of supplies, fuel, lubricants, used in different facilities (office, house, store, etc.).
Checking the maintenance of the various open spaces (gardens, courtyards...) and ensuring that domestic waste is correctly discarded
Preparing orders for his sector activity, do the follow-up, and checking their proper reception and state.
Carrying out local purchases and ensuring that the line manager is aware of any problems linked to the quality or availability of the items to be purchased.
Participating in trainings at the request of the line manager
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
Ensure continuous operation of hospital and IDP camp infrastructure, including power generation, water supply, sanitation, waste management, and communications.
Manage preventive and corrective maintenance of generators, solar systems, medical infrastructure, and logistics equipment.
Supervise logistics staff (guards, cleaners, maintenance agents, and technicians) and ensure compliance with MSF standards.
Coordinate procurement, warehousing, inventory, and timely distribution of logistics supplies to hospital departments and IDP camps.
Support watsan team in WASH activities, including water treatment, distribution systems, latrines, drainage, and infection prevention and control (IPC) measures.
Oversee any construction and rehabilitation of hospital wards, temporary structures, staff accommodation, and camp facilities.
Ensure implementation of MSF safety, security, fire prevention, and asset management procedures.
Provide rapid logistics support during disease outbreaks, mass casualty incidents, and new displacement emergencies.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Education
Essential Secondary Education, Desirable diploma in engineering related studies.
Experience
Essential: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in facility management or a related field.
Desirable: Experience working with international or national non-governmental organizations (INGOs/NNGOs) in facility management or related functions.
Languages
English B2 level and Arabic essential
