ROLE PURPOSE:

Under the direct supervision of the Health and Nutrition Manager, cooperation with Senior Nutrition officer and Health officers ,  and follow up of logistic supply officers Guidance and order, Pharmacist Officer will carry overall  drug receiving ,registration , distribution and health facilities

SSCOPE OF ROLE:

Pharmacist Assistant is responsible for the overall drug store management, which aims at protecting the quality of drugs that received and consumed by beneficiaries and fill the drugs need of health facilities and refugee’s clinic. He/she will ensure that all drugs and consumable medical supplies are kept in good manner of storing, distribution, and drug documentation, in accordance with the Pharmacy department-SMOH and with line with SC and donor’s policy and requirement standard. 

• Pharmacist Assistant will advise on safe emergency response pharmaceutical management best practices and ensure incorporation of these practices into pharmacy services design, including drug flow, consumption reporting, buffer stocks, alert levels, early international and local orders to avoid stock outs.
• Ensure good practices of storage and distribution are respected at national, provincial and health zone level to ensure safe and effective supplies in the targeted response locations.
• In coordination with Country office Health Manager and Country Supply Chain Manager, lead capacity building activities (including trainings) with a focus on pharmaceutical management best practices, consumption reporting guidelines at service point, and SCI stock management guidelines internally for emergency response targeted location /HF’s 
• Ensure that prescribing, administration, cold chain management, controlled drug management and health care waste management are conducted according to drug management guidelines at MOH facility level.
• Ensure national/international  procurement is raised according to stock level.
• Lead national purchasing of drug and medical equipment according to SCI guidelines
• Lead procurement planning through the assessment of needs by analyzing consumption report data at facility level, quantification of requirements.
• Ensure National Drug Regulatory Authorities approval of all medical items to procured/imported. Determine and ensure compliance with Drugs' customs requirements.
• Ensure daily/weekly/monthly stock movement reports, stock checks and all stock card, bin card and other in emergency response tragted HF’s and field office 
• Maintain the stock database (TIM) on a regular manner and ensure regular inventory according to save the children.
• Daily checking and registration of drug store temperatures and humidity
• Ensure a proper environment for drug storage. 
• Arrangement and order of drug according to shelf life and giving priority for it distribution and disposal of drug that missing label, loose physical, and chemical properties and damage of drug package 
• Identify monthly need of each health facilities and weekly follow up of essential drug consumption to avoid stock out of any drug period.
• Facilitate and initiate the process of receiving of free drug from medical supply fund and disposal of expired drug with health authority.
• Prepare set of complete documentation for monthly report regularly to Health & Nutrition Manager
• Identify the need of consumable lab reagent and material and prepare preminarly receipt for procurement.
• Monitor the drug storage condition at health facility level on monthly base and giving advice on filling pin card.
• Receive and invent RUSF and RUTF 
• Perform any other duties or task assigned or recommended by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor's or high diploma in pharmacy, medical store.
• Previous work experiences with NGOs is preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:

• Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software applications, used by pharmacies.
• Great organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

• High communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice from a distance.
• Proven organizational skills with an ability to deliver consistently to deadlines on operational and project responsibilities.
