Background: British American Tobacco is seeking a results-driven Sustainability Coordinator to join our team at our Al- Damar Factory. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an integrated Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) management system. As a technical advisor on EH&S risks, you will embed best practices across factory operations, drive our site-wide sustainability agenda, and ensure full compliance with internal corporate policies and external legal regulations.

Duties and responsibilities:
- EH&S Compliance & Risk Assessment:
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate operational EH&S risks across the facility.
- Ensure full adherence to local environmental/safety legislation and global BAT guidelines.
- Conduct rigorous quarterly internal self-assessments to monitor progress and maintain standards.
- Environmental & Performance Reporting:
- Track, analyze, and report key metrics (CO₂ emissions, energy consumption, waste generation, recycling performance, working hours, and incident logs) on a quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis.
- Submit formal reporting packages directly to the Global EH&S functional team and local leadership.
- Fleet & Facility Safety Management:
- Oversee vehicle fleet safety compliance, leasing supplier contracts, routine maintenance tracking, traffic fine distribution, and monthly user safety checklists.
- Oversee fire prevention/protection systems and office facility hazards to ensure compliance across all site spaces.
- Sustainability & Waste Reduction:
- Champion site-wide environmental initiatives, actively applying the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) framework to reduce operations footprint.
- Promote workplace well-being programs and occupational health improvements.
- Committee Leadership & Training:
- Lead monthly and quarterly EH&S committee meetings; brief executive leadership on performance metrics and action plans.
- Develop and deliver standardized EH&S training materials for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Financial & Stakeholder Management:
- Formulate and track the EH&S department budget against operational targets.
- Partner with external safety consultants, equipment contractors, and local industry groups.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline paired with a recognized, formal qualification in EH&S (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated EH&S experience, ideally in manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
- Technical Skills: Sound grasp of risk assessment methodologies, facility safety systems, fleet oversight, and regional legal standards. Strong computer literacy (Excel/data analytics tools).
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven capability to influence stakeholders across all organizational tiers, negotiate with external suppliers, and lead cross-functional committee initiatives.
