Background: ROLE PURPOSE: The Communication & Mobilization Officer is responsible for strengthening community engagement, raising awareness, and stakeholder participation in education and child protection activities. Duties and responsibilities:
Community Mobilization - Mobilize communities to participate in education and child protection interventions.
- Conduct awareness campaigns on children's rights, education, child protection, gender equality, and safeguarding.
- Facilitate community meetings, focus group discussions, and outreach activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, parents, teachers, and local authorities.
- Support the establishment and strengthening of community-based child protection mechanisms.
Communication and Awareness Raising - Develop and disseminate communication materials, including posters, leaflets, brochures, and key messages.
- Support the implementation of communication and behavior change activities.
- Ensure project information is communicated clearly and appropriately to target communities.
- Document project success stories, lessons learned, case studies, and beneficiary testimonials.
- Manage communication channels and visibility activities in compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement - Coordinate with schools, local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations.
- Represent the project in community meetings and coordination forums when required.
- Promote collaboration among education and child protection stakeholders.
- Support advocacy efforts aimed at increasing access to education and child protection services.
Monitoring and Reporting - Collect community feedback and concerns and ensure proper referral and response mechanisms.
- Maintain records of outreach, mobilization, and communication activities.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on project activities.
- Assist in monitoring project indicators related to community participation and awareness.
Safeguarding and Accountability - Promote safeguarding principles and child protection standards in all project activities.
- Ensure implementation of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) mechanisms.
- Support awareness sessions on prevention of violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
- Report safeguarding concerns according to organizational policies

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Social Sciences, Education, Community Development, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in community mobilization, communications, education, or child protection programs.
- Experience working with NGOs, humanitarians, or development organizations.
- Knowledge of child protection principles and education programming.
- Experience facilitating community engagement and awareness campaigns
Skills and Competencies - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong facilitation and community engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Good report writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Knowledge of local languages is an asset
