 Background:

ROLE

The Information Management Assistant supports the management of Child Protection case management data by ensuring timely, accurate, and confidential data entry, verification, and reporting. S/he maintains the Information Management System (IMS), conducts data quality checks, supports the use of standardized case management tools, and ensures all case files are complete and properly documented. The role works closely with case workers and the Information Management Coordinator to produce regular reports and support the implementation of CPIMS+ and other information management systems in accordance with data protection and safeguarding standards.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the planning and delivery of training sessions on information management systems, data collection, data quality, and documentation tools for Child Protection staff. 
  •  Provide ongoing coaching and technical support to case workers to strengthen data management and reporting practices. 
  •  Promote the effective use of information management tools, standard forms, and digital platforms to ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting. 
  •  Build the capacity of case workers and other relevant staff on IMS procedures, data quality standards, and confidentiality requirements.

Data Entry and Information Management

  •  Enter, update, and maintain accurate and timely case management data in approved information management systems, including CPIMS+. 
  • Conduct routine data quality checks and ensure data completeness, accuracy, and consistency. 
  • Generate regular reports, statistics, and data analyses to support program monitoring and decision-making. 
  • Maintain secure and organized filing systems for open and closed case records. 
  • Ensure regular database backup and compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and information-sharing protocols. 
  •  Support the establishment and implementation of standardized information management systems and procedures. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance to case workers on data management tools, documentation, and reporting requirements.

Other Duties

  • Work with the IMO and supervisors to monitor data collection through consistency checks
  • Participate in any other activities as may be assigned to you by your supervisor from time to time.
  • Comply with all relevant Save the Children International policies and procedures with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Management Information Systems (MIS), Statistics, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in information management, data management, database administration, or reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using information management systems, databases, or digital data collection platforms is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and data quality standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in humanitarian or Child Protection programming is desirable.
  • Commitment to learning and professional development.

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Two of Experience in data management, reporting, or information management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and report-writing skills.
  • Understanding of data protection and confidentiality principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team.
  • Fluency in Arabic; knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Experience in humanitarian or child protection programmes is desirable.
  • Willingness to work in challenging field environments and respond during emergencies when required.

Child Safeguarding

Level 4: The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programmes, are visiting country programs or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

 

As part of these responsibilities the post holder will support the establishment of child safeguarding systems, promote a culture of keeping children safe, and ensure that potential harm to children (by our own staff and/or as a result of how we do our work) is identified and addressed on an ongoing basis. The post holder should report and respond to interventions as determined by position related responsibilities identified in the Child Safeguarding Policy.

Health and Safety
