Background:
Our vision: Outraged by the injustice faced by people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, we aspire to a worldof solidarity and inclusion, enrichedby our differences, where everyonecan live in dignity. Our mission: HI is an independent and impartial aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflictand disaster. We work alongsidepeople with disabilities and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promoterespect for their dignity and fundamental rights. HI works in around sixty countries in emergency, reconstruction, chronic crisis and development contexts. Founded in 1982 and a co-recipient of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize, the organization has been working alongside vulnerable populations, in particular people with disabilities. Today, more than 4,500 people, including 3,500 national field staff and 300 international staff, work for HI in a wide range of contexts, implementing more than 400 projects in over 60 countries.
HI has initiated its programmatic response to the Sudan crisis in January 2024. Together with a Sudanese NGO, we providephysical and functional rehabilitation as well as mentalhealth & psychosocial support in health centers and communities. HI is further leading disability inclusion mainstreaming at humanitarian coordination level.
HI is scalingup its intervention in Sudan while expandingits programmatic and geographical scope,to respond to the catastrophic humanitarian crisis affecting Sudanese people.
The Human Resources Officer supports the implementation oF HR action plans aligned with the Programme’s strategic objectives (STRATOP) within their geographical area. They are delegated specific HR responsibilities at the geographical area level and ensure effective implementation of HR management practices in compliance with the allocated budget, HI HR policies, procedures, and frameworks.

Responsibility 3: Assistsmanagers inhis/her geographical area withthe implementation of HI's HR policies:
Responsibility 4: Legaland socialaspects: helpsto maintainthe social environment and compliancewith thelegal HRframework inhis/her geographical area.
Responsibilities may evolve as per programmatic needs and adapting to local circumstances. It is expectedthat the positionholder will performany other dutiesas required by the Line Manager that are commensurate with the position. |
