 Background:

We are seeking motivated professionals who will ensure completion of all activities related to medical data entry and data management into the mission database. Supervise, organize and plan the activity of Data Entry officers/operators, as well as identify their training needs in order to provide good service support and reliability of the data collected. according to the project objectives, MSF values, standards and procedures



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise, organiZe and plan the activity of Data Entry officers to have a reliable record of medical activity performed, as well as identify their training/technical support needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.
  • Ensure collation and entry of all data identified by project managers for collection (e.g. morbidity, mortality, surveillance of diseases of epidemics, nutrition, psychological and women’s health, etc) into the appropriate data management system while ensuring quality of data 
  • Do quality control data officers’ performance on regular basis
  • Know and ensure proper use of software used for recording (i.e. HMIS Fuchia, Epi Info, linelist etc.).
  • Ensure accuracy of the medical data entered into the mission’s database on a regular basis, according to MSF protocols and carry out regular back-ups. 
  • Provide technical support to data entry officers/operators in project sites and give response to their training needs.
  • Provide regular statistical reports for the medical team as well as informing the superior of any missing information, major changes or big differences in data

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • Collection, compilation and preparation of medical data for regular reporting of medical and related activities (biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual).
  • Review all medical data reported to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
  • Routinely update the RRT database for Rabak, Kosti and Tendelti.
  • Participate in the discussion of the terms of reference for management of alerts.
  • Help with writing reports by assisting the teams with data analysis.
  • Participate in health cluster meetings and regularly share surveillance information with MAM and the PMR.
  • Continue to be familiar with MSF standards on reporting, including the use of standard HMIS tally sheets and reporting tools and ensure compliance with standard reporting requirements for all data collection activities.
  • Support the medical team, specifically the PMR, in analyzing medical data for strategic planning.
  • Work with partner organizations / RAFA to enter data into the Excel file for the HMIS database.
  • Make sure that medical and humanitarian alerts are recorded in the AMT tool and shared with the PMR and the Epi manager for the mission.
  • Work with the HP team on managing community-based monitoring data for the localities of Ad Doweim, Al Jabalain, Joda, and other areas in the White Nile covered by MSF Spain.
  • Keep in touch with the SMOH data encoder to collect data on the surveillance of diseases with epidemic potential (cholera, measles, malaria, diphtheria, dengue) in White Nile.
  • Regular contact with mission HMIS focal point for management of project level HMIS reporting and analysis needs.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education

Essential Diploma either in statistics Degree in Information and Technology (IT) desirable.

HMIS training online level II is an asset.

Experience

Preferable working experience of at least one year with INGOs or NNGOs. 

Preferable medical background and/or Epidemiology. 

Languages                        Essential: English B2 and local language (Arabic).
Knowledge

Essential knowledge of use of computer including processing of documents (Word, Excel).

Desirable knowledge on medical statistics data bases.
