Background: The Driver – Mobile PHC is responsible for the safe operation, movement, relocation and basic operational care of MedGlobal’s Mobile Primary Health Care (PHC) units. The position will support the deployment of Mobile PHCs from Port Sudan to designated operational locations across Sudan and ensure that the vehicles and units remain roadworthy, properly maintained, safely operated and ready for deployment. The Driver will work closely with Admin, Logistics, Programme and field teams and support the safe setup, movement and relocation of Mobile PHCs in accordance with MedGlobal procedures and security requirements. ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ يتولى السائق للعيادات المتنقلة مسؤولية التشغيل الآمن، ونقل وتحريك وإعادة تموضع وحدات الرعاية الصحية الأولية المتنقلة التابعة لمنظمة MedGlobal، بالإضافة إلى العناية التشغيلية الأساسية بها. يدعم شاغل الوظيفة نقل ونشر وحدات الرعاية الصحية الأولية المتنقلة من بورتسودان إلى المواقع التشغيلية المحددة في مختلف أنحاء السودان، ويضمن بقاء المركبات والوحدات في حالة جيدة وصالحة للسير، وإجراء الصيانة اللازمة لها، وتشغيلها بأمان، وجاهزيتها الدائمة للنشر. ويعمل السائق بشكل وثيق مع فرق الإدارة واللوجستيات والبرامج والفرق الميدانية، ويدعم عملية التجهيز الآمن، والنقل، وإعادة تموضع وحدات الرعاية الصحية المتنقلة وفقًا لإجراءات MedGlobal ومتطلبات السلامة والأمن. |

Duties and responsibilities: 1. Driving and Deployment Safely operate assigned Mobile PHC vehicles/units in accordance with Sudanese traffic laws and MedGlobal safety and security procedures. Support the initial relocation and subsequent deployment of Mobile PHCs from Port Sudan to designated states, localities and operational sites. Conduct pre-deployment vehicle checks before every movement and confirm that the unit is roadworthy. Follow approved movement plans, routes, security clearances and movement-tracking procedures. Immediately report accidents, breakdowns, security incidents, road-access problems or other movement- related concerns. Ensure that only authorized passengers, equipment and supplies are transported. Support route planning by providing practical information on road conditions, accessibility and vehicle limitations. 2. Mobile PHC Setup and Handling Support the safe positioning, opening, closing, packing and relocation of Mobile PHC units. Ensure clinic equipment and movable items are properly secured before transportation. Support field teams in understanding the safe handling and movement requirements of the Mobile PHC. Provide practical orientation to designated staff on basic vehicle/mobile-unit operation where appropriately trained and authorized. Ensure that technical, electrical, medical or mechanical equipment is not operated outside the Driver’s level of training or authorization. 3. Vehicle Maintenance Conduct daily and weekly inspections of assigned vehicles/Mobile PHC units using approved checklists. Monitor mileage and scheduled preventive maintenance requirements. Ensure servicing is undertaken according to established maintenance schedules. Identify and report mechanical problems early and coordinate with Admin/Logistics for repair. Perform only basic maintenance tasks within the Driver’s competence and refer technical repairs to qualified mechanics or service providers. Monitor tyres, brakes, fluids, batteries, lights, emergency equipment and other essential vehicle components. Keep the vehicle and Mobile PHC unit clean, secure and operationally ready. 4. Safety and Security Apply defensive driving practices at all times, particularly during long-distance and field movements. Comply with MedGlobal security procedures and movement restrictions. Ensure the vehicle carries required safety and emergency equipment, including first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, spare Tyre, tools and recovery equipment where applicable. Participate in driver safety briefings and provide practical feedback on road and vehicle safety concerns. Immediately report any safety defect that could make the vehicle unsafe to operate. Do not operate the vehicle where mechanical, road or security conditions create an unacceptable safety risk without appropriate authorization. 5. Documentation and Accountability Maintain accurate daily vehicle logbooks. Maintain records of mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance and repairs. Complete vehicle inspection and handover forms as required. Ensure all required vehicle documentation is available and valid before movement. Submit fuel receipts and other required supporting documentation promptly. Report any damage, accident or loss immediately in accordance with MedGlobal procedures. Protect MedGlobal vehicles, equipment and assets from misuse or unauthorized access. 6. Coordination Coordinate closely with Admin, Logistics, Programme and field teams regarding planned movements and deployments. Support development of Mobile PHC movement and maintenance schedules. Communicate operational and mechanical concerns promptly to the Admin Officer and relevant Logistics focal point. Support temporary relocation or redeployment of Mobile PHCs in response to changing programme or emergency requirements.
ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ 1. القيادة والنقل والنشر - تشغيل مركبات ووحدات الرعاية الصحية المتنقلة المخصصة بأمان، وفقًا لقوانين المرور السودانية وإجراءات السلامة والأمن المعتمدة لدى MedGlobal. 2. تجهيز والتعامل مع وحدات الرعاية الصحية المتنقلة - دعم عملية وضع وحدات الرعاية الصحية المتنقلة في المواقع المحددة، وفتحها وإغلاقها وتعبئتها ونقلها بأمان. 3. صيانة المركبة - إجراء عمليات الفحص اليومية والأسبوعية للمركبات ووحدات الرعاية الصحية المتنقلة المخصصة باستخدام قوائم الفحص المعتمدة. 4. السلامة والأمن - تطبيق ممارسات القيادة الدفاعية في جميع الأوقات، وخاصة أثناء الرحلات الطويلة والتنقلات الميدانية. . - الاحتفاظ بسجلات يومية دقيقة لحركة واستخدام المركبة. 6. التنسيق - التنسيق الوثيق مع فرق الإدارة واللوجستيات والبرامج والفرق الميدانية بشأن عمليات الحركة والنشر المخطط لها. |

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Valid Sudanese General Driving Licence appropriate for the category and size of the Mobile PHC vehicle, issued at least five years ago. Minimum five years of professional driving experience. Demonstrated experience driving trucks, specialized vehicles, mobile clinics, ambulances or similar large vehicles is strongly preferred. Proven experience driving long distances and in remote or field environments. Previous experience with a humanitarian organization, NGO, UN agency, logistics company or health programme is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of defensive driving and road-safety practices. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify common vehicle faults. Ability to understand and follow preventive maintenance schedules. Familiarity with Port Sudan and major inter-state routes in Sudan is an advantage. Ability and willingness to travel extensively and remain in field locations when operationally required. Basic literacy and numeracy sufficient to maintain vehicle logs, fuel records, checklists and maintenance documentation. Respectful and professional when dealing with patients, communities, health workers, authorities and MedGlobal staff. Able to safeguard organizational assets and confidential information.
