 Background:

We are seeking motivated professionals who will Ensure completion of all activities related to medical data entry and data management into the mission database. Supervise, organize and plan the activity of Data Entry officers/operators, as well as identify their training needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected. according to the project objectives, MSF values, standards and procedures.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise, organize and plan the activity of Data Entry officers to have a reliable record of medical activity performed, as well as identify their training/technical support needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.
  • Ensure collation and entry of all data identified by project managers for collection (e.g. morbidity, mortality, surveillance of diseases of epidemics, nutrition, psychological and women’s health, etc) into the appropriate data management system while ensuring quality of data
  • Do quality control data officers’ performance on regular basis
  • Know and ensure proper use of software used for recording (i.e. HMIS, Epi Info,linelists etc.).
  • Ensure accuracy of the medical data entered into the mission’s database on a regular basis, according to MSF protocols and carry out regular back-ups.
  • Provide technical support to data entry officers/operators in project sites and give response to their training needs.
  • Provide regular statistical reports for the medical team as well as informing the superior of any missing information, major changes or big differences in data.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • Oversee data collection, management, and analysis activities for the North Kordofan project.
  • Develop, update, and enforce data entry protocols and guidelines to ensure uniformity and consistency across all project sites, in alignment with MSF standards and objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with the Epidemiologist LHS and IMS and HMIS Team to ensure data management systems function optimally, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues encountered by data managers and supervisors at health facility and service levels.
  • Monitor and evaluate the timeliness and completeness of data collection and reporting from all locations, identify delays or gaps, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Liaise with Medical Project Managers to ensure that data collected meets evolving project needs, including the integration of new indicators when required.
  • Lead and organize regular training sessions and workshops for data entry staff on topics such as data quality and integrity, data protection and security codes, and proper use of medical data software and HMIS tools, with the aim of continuously improving data quality.
  • Prepare and present medical data and analyses during project meetings / reports to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with health facilities and the State Ministry of Health (SMoH) to collect, compile, validate, and report health data from MSF structures, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and timely submission.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education

Essential Diploma s either in administration, data entry or in statistics. Degree in Information and Technology (IT) desirable.

HMIS training online level II is an asset.

Experience

Preferable working experience of at least one year with INGOs or NNGOs. 

Preferable medical background and/or Epidemiology. 

Languages                        Essential: English B2 and local language (Arabic).
Knowledge

Essential knowledge of use of computer including processing of documents (Word, Excel).

Desirable knowledge on medical statistics data bases.
