 Duties and responsibilities:

 Implementation and Monitoring Field Work:

  • Prepare detailed workplans, activity schedules and field-visit plans for assigned localities and schools, and track their implementation in coordination with the Program Manager and Office Coordinator.
  • Coordinate inception, orientation and consultation meetings with Ministries of Education, locality education offices, school headteachers, School Management Committees and Parent-Teacher Associations.
  • Verify target-school lists, organise initial school visits and support the collection of data for indicators in coordination with the MEAL team.
  • Support schools to identify target children, conduct rapid learning assessments, register children, form reading groups and operate the groups in line with approved technical guidance and schedules.
  • Monitor child and facilitator attendance, the regularity of remedial sessions and the safety, inclusion and gender responsiveness of learning spaces.
  • Coordinate the application of baseline and endline assessment tools, ensuring that class lists, attendance records, results and supporting documents are complete and securely maintained.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team and UNICEF on the receipt, storage and distribution of books, teacher kits and digital-learning equipment according to the approved distribution plan.
  • Ensure complete Proof of Delivery, school handover forms, distribution records and, where appropriate, photo documentation; promptly escalate shortages, damage or delays to the relevant teams.
  • Organise and coordinate facilitator and teacher training on remedial teaching approaches, digital learning facilitation, safe classroom practice and basic MHPSS.
  • Follow up training arrangements, attendance, materials and documentation, and provide post-training support to facilitators in schools, including digital coaching and mentorship where available.
  • Organise community-platform meetings and build the capacity of platform leaders to promote learning continuity; engage community leaders, religious leaders, SMCs and PTAs to support enrolment and regular attendance.
  • Integrate gender, disability and displacement considerations across implementation, and promote the participation of girls, internally displaced children and children with disabilities without discrimination.
  • Provide communities with clear information on project objectives, targeting criteria, schedules and feedback/complaints channels, and document feedback received and actions taken.
  • Conduct regular follow-up field visits to ensure the proper implementation of project activitiesز 
  •  Identify implementation challenges and operational risks and recommend timely corrective actions to ensure project targets are achieved.. 
  • Collect and verify data before entry or submission, ensure sex- and category-disaggregation where required, and protect the confidentiality of children’s data.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly updates, activity and visit reports, and indicator-tracking matrices; contribute to narrative, quarterly and environmental and social monitoring reports as requested.
  • Develop training material as needed.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and participate in all in-house professional development activities, meetings, and planning sessions.
  • Participate in activities relevant to project as per approval by Health Program Manager.
  • Updated workplans and field schedules for assigned schools and localities, with clear activity, visit and responsibility tracking.
  • Operational remedial reading groups with complete registration, attendance and baseline/endline assessment documentation.
  • Documented trainings and community activities, including follow-up on the application of acquired knowledge and skills in schools.
  • Complete, verifiable distribution and custody records for learning materials and digital-learning assets.
  • Accurate, timely periodic reports and reliable indicator data supported by organised means of verification.
  • Documented feedback management and improvement actions, with clear compliance with safeguarding, accountability and environmental/social requirements.
  • Ensure that the organization's policies and procedures are adhered to adequately throughout the project implementation.
  • Carry out any other responsibilities as requested by the program manager.
  •  Support project close-out activities, including final documentation, verification of project outputs, lessons learned and final reporting.

Capacity Building:

  • Develop training material as needed.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and participate in all in-house professional development activities, meetings, and planning sessions.
  • Participate in activities relevant to the project as assigned by the Program Manager

Other Office duties:

  • Develop and organize all data, files, and documents.
  • Demonstrate gender sensitivity and show support and respect to all Team members.
  • Responsible for the confidentiality and security of data, documents, and resources

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Teaching, Social Sciences, Project Management or another relevant field. Further study or training in education in emergencies or remedial learning is an advantage.
  • At least three years of practical experience implementing education, child-protection or community-development projects, preferably including remedial, non-formal or school-based programming.
  • Strong English language speaking and writing abilities. 
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring education activities.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors and other NGOs 
  • Experience in conducting training sessions and capacity-building activities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and making decisions quickly and independently. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Good organizational and time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail. 
  • Extremely flexible and have the ability to cope with stressful situations
