The MHPSS Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities at facility and community levels. The role ensures compliance with WHO mhGAP and national and international standards, provides technical leadership and supervision, supports program development, contributes to proposal writing and reporting, and represents NCA in relevant coordination forums. Frequent travel to project locations is required.

•  Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of MHPSS interventions and related protection activities. 
• Ensure MHPSS programming aligns with WHO mhGAP guidance and international standards. 
• Coordinate with multi-sectoral teams and integrate MHPSS across other sectors including WASH and Economic Development and Food Security. 
• Identify needs, conduct assessments, and prepare technical reports. 
•  Support proposal development and contribute to resource mobilization efforts. 
• Conduct capacity-building initiatives for staff and partners, including psychoeducation, mhGAP-based training, and other scalable interventions. 
•  Provide technical oversight, mentoring, and clinical supervision for MHPSS staff and services. 
• Develop and adapt context-specific MHPSS guidelines, tools, and interventions. 
• Implement community-based psychosocial support activities and innovative approaches. 
• Facilitate collaboration with health partners for mhGAP and related mental health interventions.
•  Develop and support staff well-being initiatives and peer support mechanisms. 
• Monitor program outcomes and ensure quality data collection and reporting. 
•  Liaise with government institutions, partners, clusters, and technical working groups.  
• Strengthen referral pathways for people requiring specialized MHPSS services. 
• Represent NCA in MHPSS coordination and technical forums as delegated. 
•  Contribute to donor reports and proposal development. 
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of GBV Sector

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, And Qualification

• This position is open to Sudanese nationals; female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. 
• Master’s degree in Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Medicine, Social Work, or another relevant field. 
• At least 3–5 years of progressive experience in a similar-level role within humanitarian Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programmes in INGOs or UN agencies, including proven experience in providing clinical supervision.
• Experience with WHO mhGAP and community-based scalable mental health interventions. 
• Experience working with refugees, IDPs, returnees, host communities, and other vulnerable populations in Sudan. 
• Experience in proposal development, report writing, monitoring and evaluation. 
• Demonstrated experience in training, mentoring, and capacity building. 
•  Fluency in both English and Arabic (spoken and written). 
•  Willingness and ability to travel regularly to field locations.

Desirable

• Experience in emergency health and humanitarian response settings.
• Familiarity with donor compliance requirements.
• Experience with protection and GBV-integrated programming.
• Strong communication, coordination, teamwork, and self-management skills
