Background: Description of the Program GOAL has responded to a wide range of humanitarian and development needs in Sudan since 1985 supporting conflict-affected populations through integrated programmes in nutrition, health, WASH and food security and livelihoods (FSL), with women’s empowerment and protection mainstreamed throughout our work. GOAL responds to protracted humanitarian needs in Sudan, while planning for and investing in communities’ longer-term development. GOAL is currently present in North Darfur, South Kordofan and White Nile States. In ND GOAL is the only NGOs providing H&N services in Kutum. Overall, our presence is essential to keep functional health and nutrition services in highly vulnerable areas after 2 years of war and to ensure increased food security and access to livelihoods opportunities for communities affected by the war in IPC 4 and 5 areas. As a member of the Cash Consortium of Sudan (CCS, now Collective Sudan), GOAL is also providing life-saving cash assistance, strengthening local response capacities, and promote harmonisation across the humanitarian sector in the most vulnerable areas in North Darfur and South Kordofan. GOAL is currently seeking a Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) coordinator to technically lead on all FSL related activities in Sudan. General Description of the Role Under the responsibility of the Programme Director (PD), the FSL Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring high quality programming and implementation of the food security and livelihoods programs of GOAL Sudan. Specifically, he/she will be leading technically the design, development and planning of cash and livelihood projects including contributing to strong Monitoring and Evaluations, Accountability and Learning systems (M&E) to measure the impact of the programs. S/he will provide technical advice and capacity support to field staff to ensure the FSL work is of high quality and contribute to achieving objectives of the programme, sector and organization. He/She represents GOAL in main technical for at national level and in relation to existing partnership (i.e. CCS). |
