Background: INTERSOS is an Italian humanitarian organization based in Rome that operates all over the world bringing assistance to populations in danger, victims of armed conflict and natural disasters. With its own humanitarian operators, INTERSOS intervenes to effectively meet the needs of people in crisis, by providing them with first aid, food and basic goods. It ensures that basic needs, as education, clean water and health, are met. INTERSOS’ mission is to intervene in emergency and crisis situations, to help people, families and communities whose lives are threatened by conflict, extreme exclusion, natural or manmade disasters. It does so by offering support during humanitarian emergencies, according to its operational and resources capacities. Duties and responsibilities:
Main Purpose: Define, coordinate and monitor medical activities of the project under his responsibility according to INTERSOS protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their local communities as well as to improve the health conditions of the target population of the project. Tasks: - Coordinate, assess and supervise the proper functioning of the medical activities of the project according to INTERSOS protocols, standards and procedures and through the correct compilation and analysis of medical data regarding patients' health conditions
- Participate in the definition of annual planning and budget for the project and in the follow up of the project. Supervise and ensure that medical activities objectives under his responsibility are achieved, reporting to the technical referent any problem arising in the service
- Coach and train the medical team of the activities he manages in order to guarantee the good quality of the medical activities and to provide the medical care to the patients
- Check all administrative procedures related to patients’ follow-up (card filling, registers, paper exit, discharge, transfers ...) are carried out correctly and according to INTERSOS procedures
- Coordinate and monitor the daily working plan of the team under his responsibility (absent personnel, vacations, tracking leaves ...). Participate in shifts and replaces a staff if necessary
- Plan and supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal communication) of the staffs under his responsibility in order to improve staff’s capabilities and to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
- Participate in the monthly reports according to guidelines

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Education - Advanced university degree in medicine or other paramedical studies
Professional experience - Mandatory experience in Medicine or other paramedical studies
- Minimum 2 year’s relevant work experience in the humanitarian sector especially in fragile and unstable environments. INGOs experience is preferred.
Professional requirements - Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
- Demonstrate experience with different donors’ compliance and reporting

- Understanding of humanitarian operations principles, standards and best practices
Commitment to INTERSOS principles Languages - Fluent knowledge of English (written and spoken) and Arabic.
