 Background:

The Field Officer, under the operational leadership of the Branch Director and with technical support from the ChildSafe Programme Coordinator and SRCS HQ technical teams, supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of ChildSafe activities at field level.

The role ensures that activities are delivered through SRCS branch structures, supporting integrated services at Humanitarian Service Points (HSPs) and community level, and that implementation is timely, organized, and aligned with agreed plans and standards.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

1. Programme Planning & Implementation

  • Support planning and scheduling of activities at state level in line with agreed workplans 
  • Ensure timely and organized implementation of activities at HSPs and community level 
  • Support prioritisation of activities based on feasibility, access, and available resources 
  • Ensure that required inputs (materials, volunteers, space) are in place before activities start 
  • Support the setup and functionality of HSPs, including basic readiness (space, materials, organization) 

2. Activity Tracking and Implementation

  • Track implementation against agreed plans and timelines 
  • Maintain simple activity tracking tools 
  • Identify delays, gaps, or bottlenecks and escalate to the Branch Director and ChildSafe Programme Coordinator 
  • Support adjustment of activities based on operational realities 

3. Volunteer Coordination and Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate ChildSafe volunteers in assigned locations 
  • Support selection, onboarding, and orientation of volunteers 
  • Organize volunteer schedules and ensure consistent presence at HSPs and community level 
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and ensure adherence to: 
    • Safeguarding and PSEA principles 
    • Basic service delivery standards 

5. Monitoring and Reporting 

  • Maintain accurate records of activities, participation, and outputs 
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting 
  • Support basic data collection and verification 
  • Document key issues, challenges, and lessons from field implementation 
  • Support implementation of feedback and accountability mechanisms 
  • Identify operational challenges (access, logistics, participation, staffing) 
  • Provide practical, field-level recommendations to the Branch Director and ChildSafe Programme Coordinator 
  • Support adaptation of activities based on context, feedback, and constraints 

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in humanitarian or community-based programmes
  • Demonstrated experience in field-level programme implementation and coordination
  • Experience working with volunteers and community structures
  • Strong organisational, coordination, and communication skills

Skills

  • Ability to plan, organise, and follow up on activities 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in field settings 
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) 

Languages

  • Fluency in Arabic 
  • Working knowledge of English
