 Background:

The Programme Coordinator will lead the implementation of the ChildSafe Programme, a multisectoral intervention delivering integrated protection, MHPSS, health, nutrition, and RCCE services through Humanitarian Service Points (HSPs) and community-based platforms.

The programme coordinator will serve as a central coordination and integration function, ensuring effective collaboration between field teams responsible for implementation; and SRCS HQ and DRC technical colleagues providing sectoral guidance and quality assurance.

The programme coordinator will also ensure that programme activities are technically sound, operationally feasible, and aligned with the budget, while maintaining strong collaboration across all levels to deliver a coherent, integrated response.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Programme Leadership and Coordination
  • Coordinate overall planning and implementation of the ChildSafe programme across all target states
  • Ensure coordinated implementation across branches, working closely with branch directors to translate plans into actionable activities
  • Act as the primary interface between HQ technical teams and branch-level implementation, ensuring alignment between technical standards and operational realities
  • Facilitate regular cross-sector coordination to ensure integrated delivery through HSPs and community platforms
  • Ensure technical guidance is appropriately adapted to field conditions and consistently applied by branch teams

Branch Engagement and Implementation Support

 

  • Work closely with branch directors to support planning, prioritisation, and resolution of operational bottlenecks
  • Lead the development and consolidation of workplans and costed plans of action, ensuring alignment between activities, budget lines, and implementation timelines
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in coordination with branch teams and technical colleagues
  • Promote and maintain strong ownership of programme implementation at branch level, while ensuring overall coherence and accountability across locations
Capacity development and technical support
  • Support capacity development of branch teams and volunteers in collaboration with technical colleagues 
  • Facilitate trainings and provide on-the-job mentoring as required 
  • Promote consistent approaches and a collaborative working environment across HQ and branch teams 
Representation and liaison 
  • Represent the programme in relevant coordination fora to strengthen partnerships and collaboration at national and state levels
  • Engage with authorities and partners to support alignment with SRCS and Movement policies and approaches
Management and strategy development
  • Provide field-based recommendations to SRCS Programme leadership and DRC technical counterparts to inform decision-making
  • Contribute to programme adaptation and strategic direction based on implementation experience and emerging needs

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education Bachelor’s degree in health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field (e.g. Law, Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or Management). A master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset.

Experience and Knowledge

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in humanitarian or development programming 
  • At least 3 years in a programme management or coordination role, preferably in complex or multi-location settings 
  • Demonstrated experience managing multisectoral programmes, including some combination of health, nutrition, MHPSS, protection, or community-based programming 
  • Proven experience in: 
    • Planning and implementation of field-based programmes 
    • Development of workplans and costed plans of action 
    • Budget management and financial tracking 
    • Donor reporting and compliance 
  • Experience with institutional donor-funded programmes is an asset 
  • Familiarity with community-based approaches and integrated service delivery models is an advantage

Languages 

 

  • Fluency in Arabic - spoken and written
  • Fluency in English-spoken and written
