 Background:

  • The Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) was established by a resolution of the Council of Ministers in 1956, in line with international legislation requiring the creation of national societies in independent states, as stipulated by the Four Geneva Conventions of 1949.

The national society delivers a wide range of humanitarian services through its network of volunteers across all Sudanese states, operating strictly in accordance with the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. These principles, particularly independence, neutrality, and impartiality ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches those in need without discrimination and free from any political, religious, ethnic, or sectarian agendas.

SRCS also implements numerous joint activities in collaboration with various ministries and relevant stakeholders and operates through 18 branches, ensuring coverage across the entire country.

 

The Administrative Assistant provides programmatic support to stand on the specific details to ensure the smooth implementation of projects activities, close follow up with the budget holders and maintain a good tracking and coordination between team members.

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to programme and office operations, including scheduling, correspondence, Documents translation, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Support programme teams in the preparation, follow-up, and organization of programme activities and meetings.
  • Assist in compiling programme reports, activity plans, and work schedules.
  • Maintain accurate programme documentation and databases.
  • Support monitoring and tracking of programme budgets and activities.
  • Support monthly budget follow-up and cost tracking for projects.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial and programme documents for audit and review purposes.
  • Promote adherence to internal control procedures at field and office levels.
  • Liaise with programme, finance, logistics, and administration teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Support coordination with partners, branches and field offices regarding documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate timely information flow between departments.
  • Assist in the preparation of programme reports for internal use and donors.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizations Management, English Literature, Business Administration and or any related field.

Experience :

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in office, programme or finance support roles.
  • Experience working with NGOs, National Societies, or international organizations is an asset.
  • Practical experience in financial documentation, budgeting, and reporting.

Skills & Competencies :

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Office.
  • Ability to work with budgets, spreadsheets, and financial trackers.

Languages :

  • Proficiency and Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
