Duties and responsibilities:
Job Profile RI is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to support its Sudan humanitarian program portfolio. This role will provide comprehensive support in awards and partnership management, reporting, and business development across the country program. Working closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Programs, Grants, Area Managers, Senior Management, and the Awards Management Unit (AMU), the successful candidate will contribute to the effective management of grants throughout the entire award lifecycle—from pre-award to post-award stages. The position is responsible for ensuring that information and data from field operations are accurately captured, documented, analyzed, and reported in a timely, results-based manner for both donor and internal purposes. Key responsibilities include supporting the initiation, management, and closeout of grants; facilitating communication and information management; and assisting program teams with compliance and other award-related processes. We are looking for a resourceful and proactive individual with strong planning and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who thrives in a dynamic environment and demonstrates the ability to organize, track, and manage complex information effectively. - Key Responsibilities
Awards Management - Contribute towards the sign-off processes of new grants and modifications, such as grants verification and grant modification forms as per RI procedures, ensuring that all internal RI processes are respected and desk sign-offs secured in a timely manner, sending to AMU to facilitate review and signature as per the authority matrix.
- With support from the Awards and Partnership Lead, act as custodian of documentation of institutional knowledge and program activities in coordination with the relevant Area Managers, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations, Programs, and Grants staff.
- Contribute towards maintaining comprehensive electronic files for programs and ensure RI teams have access to relevant records and information.
- Update the Award Matrix and ensure all relevant information is captured and accurate.
Compliance - Maintain up-to-date comprehensive knowledge of donor guidelines relevant to the Sudan portfolio, including but not limited to BHA, ECHO, UNOCHA (SHF), WFP, AICS, and UNICEF.
- Provide support to RI staff on compliance and donor-specific compliance requirements.
- Contribute closely to grants monitoring for internal or donor compliance issues, and flag concerns promptly.
Partnerships - Work with the relevant program and field team to ensure all implementing partners undergo legal vetting, due diligence, and capacity assessment before commencing work with Relief International.
- Work with the program and field team to ensure relevant donor requirements are effectively communicated and understood by implementing partners.
- Roll out Subgrant Agreements and contract clauses with Partners to ensure that they fulfil donors/legal requirements with subsequent financial monitoring.
- Keep track of payment instalments and reporting schedules made to partners and ensure all required reports are received before disbursing the funds.
- Support RI’s role in the delivery of capacity strengthening plans for partners and track and document partners’ lessons learned from finalized sub-awards.
Others - Support RI’s role in the delivery of staff capacity strengthening plans on donor compliance and communication aspects.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Person Specification Essential Criteria - Master’s degree (preferred) in International Development, Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences, International Business, Accounting, or a related field aligned with relief and development sectors. A Master’s degree in English is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in program management or financial management, preferably within emergency humanitarian organizations, including field experience.
- At least 4 years of demonstrated experience in report writing, proofreading, and/or copy-editing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong ability to produce clear and concise content.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a dynamic, cross-functional global team.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Desirable Criteria - Knowledge of rules and regulations of major institutional donors (e.g., ECHO, BHA) is desirable. Familiarity with funding mechanisms and contractual modalities of UN agencies is an added advantage, though not required.
- Experience working within a consortium setting is preferred.
