The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) is a coalition of civil society organizations from Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia and Somaliland. SIHA was founded in 1995 by a collection of women\'s groups with the view of strengthening the capacities of women organizations in the Horn of Africa countries. SIHA advocates for social change and gender equality for men and women in the Horn region and works specifically on: gender equality, women rights activism, women economic empowerment, eliminating violence against women and girls, promoting human rights, peace building and conflict transformation, enhancing women’s leadership and political participation and the production and dissemination of knowledge. Background: The Project Assistant will provide comprehensive programmatic, advocacy, administrative, and logistical support to SIHA Network’s Sudan programmes. The role supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. The Project Assistant will contribute to advocacy and communications initiatives, support monitoring and documentation, engage communities and partners, and ensure smooth day-to-day project operations in line with SIHA’s feminist, rights-based approach and donor requirements.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in advocacy and communication activities developing advocacy and communications content, collaborating with partners on campaigns, follow up with the media advisor and graphics designer on assignments
- Support in planning, coordination and implementation of all project activities in collaboration with the Sudan Programmes team - guaranteeing quality, efficiency and effectiveness
- Conduct community outreach and represent SIHA Network in community forums, in project related coalition meetings, in community events while building relationships with local organizations and initiatives
- Support the preparation of project documents as required, including but not limited to concept notes, activity reports, budget requests, terms of reference and assist in projects documentation including activity reports and regular reports to the donors.
- Support quality assurance by performing regular monitoring visits of project activities and submitting the completed monitoring report according to the monitoring plan.
- Provide administrative and operation support to projects implementation including but not limited to financial resources management (appropriate use of funds and preparation of mission accountabilities), efficient procurement and logistical services, day to day follow up with project partners and maintain up-to date files and records of project documentation
- Provide logistical support for project implementation including but not limited to organizing workshops and meetings, process project-related travel arrangements
- Develop and submit a monthly implementation plan and report for the projects supported.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Communications, Project Management, or a related field
- At least 2–3 years’ experience supporting project implementation within NGOs, civil society organizations, or development programmes, preferably in humanitarian or fragile contexts
- Experience supporting advocacy, communications, or community outreach initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in project documentation, including activity reports, concept notes, budgets, and donor reporting
- Practical knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL/MEAL) processes, including field monitoring visits
- Experience providing administrative, financial, and logistical support to project activities
- Familiarity with procurement processes, financial accountability, and record-keeping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a strong asset
- Experience working with coalitions, grassroots organizations, and community-based initiatives
- Willingness and ability to travel and work in dynamic and challenging environments
