Mercy Corps is a global team of humanitarians working together on the front lines of today’s biggest crises to create a future of possibility, where everyone can prosper.
Our mission: to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities.
Background:
About Mercy CorpsMercy Corps is a leading global organization powered by the belief that a better world is possible. In disaster, in hardship, in more than 40 countries around the world, we partner to put bold solutions into action — helping people triumph over adversity and build stronger communities from within. Now, and for the future.
Country Team SummaryMercy Corps has been operational in Sudan since 2004 and currently has a country office in Port Sudan and field offices in Central & South Darfur, North & South Kordofan, Northern State, River Nile, Kassala and Gedaref states. We work with Sudanese communities to build resilient scalable solutions that interrupt the cycle of fragility and crisis due to conflict and climate change by improving food and water security, peace and governance and enabling economic opportunities in the agricultural sector. Mercy Corps Sudan runs an SHF-funded integrated Health and Nutrition response in River Nile State. Field delivery is through two PHC points and two mobile teams serving Ad Damar and nearby locations. Mercy Corps leads Nutrition; CAFA leads Health. The two teams plan together, use one referral pathway, and share weekly service schedules so clients move smoothly between services. The River Nile team is supported by our Port Sudan office for finance, supply chain, HR, MEAL, and safety. We coordinate routine operations and supervision with the State Ministry of Health and engage cluster partners for supplies and reporting. Community feedback (CARM) is active at sites and used to fix issues quickly.
