Background: The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world’s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, have been registered in Sudan since 2004, delivering life-saving programming in protection, emergency response, shelter, food security and livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, camp management, and humanitarian mine action. DRC has implemented projects in Central Darfur, South Kordofan, Gedaref, Port Sudan, and White Nile. Sudan hosts one of the largest displaced populations in Africa, with over 3.7 million internally displaced people and over 1.1 million refugees from South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Central African Republic, Chad, Yemen and Syria. Against a background of political crisis, Sudan faces economic and social turmoil, with sharp increases in food and energy costs, further exacerbated by disease outbreaks and ongoing conflict.
POSITION PROFILE Overall purpose of the role: The overall purpose of the role: The Supply Chain Coordinator’s main objective is to provide support in the Supply chain department in efficient and effective Logistics implementation and smooth running of departmental operations of capital office with emphasis support logistics/procurement staff and functions including implementation of DRC Dynamics. The role expected to contribute to strengthen the overall supply chain functions. This position will also ensure implementation of audit recommendation related to logistics and procurement.
The post holder will be expected to assist the Supply Chain Manager in national and international procurement, custom clearance of supplies in coordination with the logistics cluster, follow up for warehouse management processes country-wide, fixed asset, and fleet management and ensuring that all logistics operations are managed and maintained in an efficient manner as per DRC’s internal and donor procedure & as per the Operations Handbook. Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: Experience and technical competencies:
Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business administration or related field.
