We are seeking dedicated and skilled professionals who are ready to deliver impactful Health Promotion and IEC activities, build strong ties with patients and communities, and foster improved understanding of essential health topics to support MSF’s medical objectives.
As the Health Promotion Focal Point, you will play an important role in rolling out IEC initiatives aimed at increasing community knowledge and skills. With a focus on effective communication and awareness-raising

• Inform patients and communities about MSF and services it provides. 
• According to medical priorities, deliver information to the patients and community on specific health topics 
• Implement activities of health education and awareness (sessions in schools, churches, community), under the indications and supervision of the HP Supervisor. 
• Under the guide of HP Supervisor, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications and behaviors observations), and report problems, success and constraints to him/her. 
• Collect all type of information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, in particular to identify the most vulnerable populations to target. 
• Report to HP Supervisor: activities, problems met, strengths and constraints. 
• Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, including other NGO’s, governmental health services that can provide answers to social problems. 
• Keep education and communication areas clean and tidy and professional materials available. 
• Participate in creation of any material needed for the activities of information, education and communication.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

1. Health education and raising awareness 

• Provide accurate information to patients and communities about MSF services and how to access them.
• Deliver health education sessions on relevant health topics as defined by the medical team and HP Supervisor.
• Support awareness activities and health education sessions in community, following the guidance and schedules established by the supervisor.
• Contribute to the development of culturally appropriate health education materials relevant to the local context and the needs of the community.
• Support surveillance focal points in conducting home visits, awareness sessions, and other health-related outreach activities.

2. Community engagement 

• Engage with community members to understand their perceptions, concerns, and practices related to health and health services.
• Identify and share information about vulnerable groups or populations with specific health risks.
• Organize and facilitate focus group discussions and participatory workshops to engage communities in health-related topics.
• Identify and report barriers to healthcare access within the community.

3. Documentation and Reporting

• Assist in the observation of community behavior change and health practices to support the evaluation of health promotion activities.
• Collect regular data and report to the HP Supervisor regularly on activities conducted, key finding, community feedback, challenges, and observations from the field.
• Prepare and submit timely weekly and monthly reports to the HP Supervisor.
