Duties and responsibilities:
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the HIS officer, the HIS assistant is responsible to lead and support timely data collection from RI HFs and entry to standard Health Information system(HIS) platforms and data base (Log Alto); as well as coordinates data verification, analysis, and storage of completed data for submission to health Officer. The HIS assistant will work with the health team to collect other activity reports and data. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Key responsibilities for HIS assistant will include: - Ensure all RI target facilities use agreed and standard data registration books as directed by MOH; as well as ensure all RI and Partner facilities comply with the standard indicator reporting templates provided by RI.
- Ensure timely data collection with standard and agreed data collection and reporting templates on all RI project indicators
- Communicate with facility level data focal persons for weekly submission of data
- Lead the Health data entry into database software (Log Alto) on weekly basis
- Ensure data verification is done in coordination with MEAL team to make sure the accuracy of the data that has been inputted
- Resolve discrepancies in information and ensure completeness of data and report with supporting documents
- Share completed data with Health HIS Officer for review by end of each week / month
Specific tasks As a HIS assistant will be responsible to ensure following specific tasks are achieved to expected standard: - Maintain quality and secure data base in RI data base system for all health project components
- Work with Health team to verify data accuracy
- Timely review and feedback on received data to facility Data Focal Person
- Follow up and ensure all hard copies received from facilities are archived on timely basis through well maintained folders
- Support health tram in data entry, analysis and reporting for assessments using scientific statistical packages like, EPI info, SPSS, Strata, Excel among other relevant computer software’s
- Any other tasks as required by the HIS Officer.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: - University or college diploma/degree in statistics or related fields are more preferable
- Experience in health and/or nutrition program data management systems (HIS) e.t.c
- Proficiency in using Microsoft programs – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Two to five years of professional experience in humanitarian work specifically public health programs
- Short courses in data management or M&E as deemed necessary
- Interest in monitoring (qualitative and quantitative methodologies) and research
- Fluency in Arabic and English, with the ability to write in both languages.
