 Background:

WASH Coordinator is responsible for coordinating & oversee the full (WASH) Program and   lead the sector within the organization in addition to encompass program planning, technical quality assurance, donor alignment, coordination, and strategic leadership across all operational states.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of Sadagaat’s WASH strategies, annual workplans, and project proposals.
  • Oversee the design, construction, and quality assurance of WASH infrastructure, including solarized water systems, pipelines, hygiene promotion, and sanitation facilities.
  • Ensure all interventions adhere to Sphere standards, national WASH Cluster priorities, and donor compliance requirements.
  • Represent Sadagaat in WASH Cluster coordination meetings and liaise with government, UN agencies, INGOs, and local partners.
  • Supervise and support field engineers, technicians, and community focal points to ensure effective, timely, and accountable project implementation.
  • Lead project monitoring and evaluation, including data collection, analysis, and reporting to management, donors, and coordination platforms.
  • Strengthen staff and community capacity through training, mentorship, and establishment of Water User Committees (WUCs).
  • Promote gender-sensitive, inclusive, and community-led approaches throughout WASH programming.
  • Manage project/s budgets, procurement, and resources in compliance with Sadagaat and donor regulations.
  • Support cross-sector integration of WASH with Health, Education, and Food Security programs for holistic community impact.
  • Contribute to environmental and social safeguards, lessons learned, and continuous quality improvement within the WASH sector.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

o Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.

• Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE 2 are considered an added advantage.

 

o Work Experience:

• 5 years /plus of experience in the same field.

 

o Required Competences & Knowledge: 

• Strong leadership and management experience and proven success in leading/contributing to program development proposal and report writing skills with proven organizational and multitasking skills.

• Strong coordination and leadership skills with proven ability to work across multiple technical areas simultaneously, supporting and mentoring multiple staff members.

• Experience in project management and managing budgets, result based programming.

• Excellent knowledge in data management.

• Experience with Excel spreadsheets.

• Excellent Arabic and English Language.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
