 Background:

JOB PURPOSE

 

The Protection Sector officer will carry out the technical supervision and guidance to all protection project activities in Red Sea state and will assist the protection specialist in the smooth running of Safeguarding and Protection Sector activities.

In addition to engaging with protection stakeholders in the state and project reporting, coordination with state protection actors and Government line ministries.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES

  • Carry out and monitor the implementation of all project activities.
  • Conduct protection and GESI assessment as needed
  • Develop and submit timely project reports.
  • Provide technical support for the partner team in the implementation of project activities.
  • Identify gaps, priorities and opportunities on Protection, Gender and safeguarding. 

 

  • Program quality assured 
  • Increased Protection Program portfolio. 
 
  • Respect and always observe WV staff regulations and security rules.
  •  Build capacity of WV on Protection, Safeguarding and GESI mainstreaming and promotion of Gender and safeguarding awareness in the area.
  • Targeted communities and staff are well-equipped.
  • Strengthen reporting, response mechanisms.
  • An orientation on Safeguarding was conducted to WV, partner staff and communities.

 

 
  • Always represent WV in a professional manner
  • Engage with protection partners in the state in all coordination efforts on protection. 
  • Full engagement with community leaders and other relevant actors at the state level.
  • Community project ownership and strong relationships with communities and government bodies have been strengthened.
  • Strengthen the coordination mechanism and active WV engagement.
 
  • Enhance and maintain teamwork.
  • Closely coordinate with other WV Sectors to ensure protection, safeguarding and GESI mainstreaming. 
  • Carry out assessment on protection, Safeguarding and Gender.

 

  • More communities and staff relationships have been improved.
  • Protection, Safeguarding and Gender are fully integrated in all sectors. 
 

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Required Professional Experience:

 

At least 2 years’ experience in Protection or a similar role in WV or in another INGO.

 

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:

 

Degree in Social Studies, Human Rights, Law, and any other relevant field.

 

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with protection Experience.

Previous experience in WVS programs.

 

Language Requirements:

English and Arabic.

Fluent - Oral and written.
