Background: BACKGROUND The Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) is a lead National society in providing quality humanitarian work, was established in 1956 and accepted into the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement as a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The SRCS operates across the Sudan with 18 branches.
The Norwegian Red Cross (NoRC), in partnership with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS), is undertaking a programme of construction and rehabilitation projects in Port Sudan to support humanitarian and health infrastructure. These include:
The projects require localised technical oversight to support implementation, ensure adherence to quality standards, and provide coordination with local contractors and stakeholders. 2. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Resident Engineer will be based in Port Sudan and act as the on-ground technical representative of the Technical Consultant team. The primary function is to support daily implementation, supervision, and contractor coordination, ensuring that all construction activities comply with the approved designs, specifications, timelines, and quality standards. |
