Background: Under the direct supervision of the Health and Nutrition PM, the Medical Logistic Assistant will oversee CARE’s Health and Nutrition Supplies in Gedarif State. The Medical logistic Assistant is responsible for providing guidelines, technical support and strategic directions to other Health and Nutrition staff under his/her supervision, seconded staff from the ministry of health and partners. The Pharmacist Assistant will assume overall responsibility for health and nutrition supplies related reporting requirements and ensure that the Information System is accurate and meets the reporting needs. The Assistant will have strong analytical skills, and she/he will suggest practical strategies for responding to changes in the operating environment as well as maintaining a focus on longer-term objectives. The Assistant will be required to make regular monitoring efforts and periodic visits to field sites and program locations and provide advice and support to program staff. This project will be implemented in close coordination with the Ministry of Health (MOH), WHO, UNICEF, and other health and nutrition implementing partners. Therefore, the incumbent is expected to have high teamwork and coordination spirit. The project also requires extensive field visits, more than 75% of the time. |

Duties and responsibilities: A Medical Logistics Assistant is responsible for managing the flow of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals within a healthcare setting area. This includes procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory management, ensuring that the right medical resources are available where and when they are needed.
Ordering, receiving, and tracking medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment as needed according to the services level and MOH policy.
Ensuring proper storage conditions, managing stock levels, and distributing supplies to various locations within a facility or to external sites.
Managing the entire lifecycle of medical resources, from acquisition to disposal, including maintenance and repair of equipment.
Applying supply chain principles to ensure efficient and effective movement of medical resources.
Conducting quality checks on incoming and outgoing supplies, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and analyzing data related to medical logistics including the in and out supplies and keeping in database and Excel sheet.
Adhering to relevant health and safety regulations and ensuring a safe working environment for medical logistics operations.
Collaborating with various stakeholders, including healthcare Facilities, procurement teams, and other logistics personnel, to ensure seamless operations.

Fluent in both Arabic and English languages to write reports and translate documents |
