Job Summary:
As a member of the CRS Sudan Enhancing Community Resilience (Nutrition) project, you will facilitate the achievement of project objectives through coordinating and reporting on all project activities and providing technical guidance and advice to staff and implementing partner(s) advancing CRS’s work serving the poor and vulnerable. As a Rapid Response team, you will provide hands-on technical leadership and oversight on Health and Nutrition activities including providing technical support to local partners, start up support in new localities and undertake SMART surveys. You may also be assigned to provide direct support to MoH at locality level across Darfur, based initially in Rokero, and Mukjar and Zalengei moving to other localities should the project target areas change. You will coordinate with the project team, local authorities and other implementers and reporting on all project activities. |

Duties and responsibilities: Roles and Key Responsibilities: Organize and lead the implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices and local regulations in the project target areas. Lead and support nutrition activities in collaboration with the program, MEAL and operations units throughout the project cycle. Represent the project and CRS at local level coordination forums and with local government officials as it relates to the nutrition activities of the project. Support in all assessments related to the nutrition component of the project; including SMART surveys and regular market research (analyzing price monitoring of the nutrition supplies and market trends, etc). Ensure that all Health and Nutrition data and documentation, is complete and meet compliance requirements of the project and/or Ministry of Health. SBuild and manage close relationships with the health department/units, implementers local partners to provide a coordinated package of support, identify bottlenecks and ensure effective solutions. Facilitate linkages between communities, outreach workers, health and nutrition facilities and health departments. Provide training and accompaniment to nutrition workers, providing individual follow-up as well as organizing monthly meetings to reinforce training topics, ensure national guidelines and best practices are followed and facilitate peer exchange of experience. Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or social science or a related Health or Nutrition professional qualification. Minimum of 4 years of work experience in Health and nutrition activities in Sudan, ideally in large and complex project Additional experience may substitute for some education. Experience supporting a program providing community management of acute malnutrition is an added advantage Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience in high quality assessments, monitoring projects and collecting relevant data, in MEAL sector. Staff management experience and abilities that are conducive to a learning environment.
Required Languages - Fluent written and spoken Arabic and professional level of written and spoken English required.
Travel - in the proposed locations subject to Donor approval. Must be willing and able to travel up to 70% to project areas.

Preferred Qualifications Good experience in project grants management, including project design, preferably for grants from multiple public donors, including international donors. Experience engaging with partner organizations MEAL skills and experience required. Staff management experience and abilities that are conducive to a learning environment. Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information management systems.
