 Background:

Job Summary 

 

The coordinator will play a key leading role in planning, coordinating monitoring and implementing activities of Provision of Inputs, distributions, and related services project in Gaziera state under the support of the project manager.S/he will manage all aspects of project planning and quality implementation, including providing technical expertise, project finance and budget compliance, supervising staff tasks and performance, coordinating with MoAs, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting, building staff capacity as required. This post plays the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects, including, accountability for different projects/programs, resources, supervision and coaching the performance of the local partners and the field-based staff, coordinating delivery of projects goods, collect, analyze and forward project information to the project managers, organize and implement staff training and volunteers, resolve project related issues and liaise with local community and community leaders. The coordinator will have a significant responsibility to deliver timely results and for coordination with the Project Management and government, donors, and community stakeholders; in addition to other ADD cross-cutting and related projects.

The coordinator will cover the Gaziera state. The coordinator will support other locations as per the directives of their supervisors.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Project management

 

  • Provide technical support and supervision on efficient and effective implementation of assigned projects as per work plans, M&E plans, budgets, timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Design relevant technical monitoring and implementing materials to ensure quality project implementation.
  • Manage project teams to ensure delivery of agreed deliverables, plans and strategies as per ADD policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure project activities are on track, including developing and implementing solutions as necessary.
  • Manage project budgets and spending under BVAs, adherence with donor and ADD procedures and policies.
  • Conduct capacity-building and/or mentoring activities for project staff and/or NGO partners as required.
  • Facilitate team building and cohesive working among team members.
  • Review and support the elaboration of project documents and reports.
  • Maintain project transparency and accountability within the country team and with donors.
  • Support the Project manager in relevant tasks of project management, including resource allocation and ensuring appropriate controls are maintained at all levels!
  • Provide feedback to the project team to ensure optimal performance.
  • Frequent travel to other project locations to attend project sites and provide support to the team as needed.
  • Coordinate with project partners to ensure collaboration in proper efforts and roles well join to enhance project performance to meet objectives,

 

Donors visit support:

 

  • Support all donor visits by ensuring proper donor quality and compliance checklist is in place.
  • Prepare local communities for all donor visits and ensure the right community representatives are ready.
  • Ensure donor visibility is well placed and visible for all.
  • Main strong connections with key stakeholders in the served community and facilitate donor visits, accordingly, including government officials.
  • Facilitate the obtaining of all necessary documents including permission for the donor visits.

 

 

Reporting and Support MEAL function:

 

  • Support the facilitation with the MEAL team to ensure all monitoring and evaluation activities are conducted most efficiently.
  • Lead the process of the key assessment and evaluation activities including baseline, midterm, and end-line assessment.
  • Conduct regular visits to target localities and obtain key observations and views of target groups to improve the quality of implementation.
  • Facilitate the process of Quarter, mid-project and end-project evaluation in the target localities.
  • In close work coordination with the Data Management focal point ensure data reported reflect the actual status of the project.
  • Conduct monthly reviews for the IPTT against the actual monthly implementation.
  • Monitor the implementation of key implementing partners and provide relevant feedback.

 

External Coordination and Communication

 

  • Represent ADD in coordination meetings, FSL sector meetings and external relationships.
  • Maintain organizational consistency through the maintenance of strong and positive relations with field teams and CO.
  • Participate in the Coordination meeting and provide feedback on the status of overall program implementation in different areas.

 

Representation & Advocacy & Organizational Learning:

 

  • Ensure that ADD planning and work is coordinated with other agencies and Government and take a leadership role in meetings with the State Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, Meteorological dep.  and MoH meetings/forums, and other relevant forums.
  • Taking the lead to document lessons learned and success stories especially for wider dissemination.
  • Work in a coordinated manner with the other projects, and sectors to create synergies and integrate cross-cutting issues.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects regarding ADD Project Campaigns and Advocacy activities including negotiating agreements, and MoUs, developing implementation plans, contracting consultants, as well as evaluation and reporting.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies for maximizing the effectiveness of the campaigning and advocacy activities using a wide variety of tools/ including e.g. digital/ new technology tools.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree in Agriculture or related field, Social Sciences, Public Health and nutrition master’s degree is preferable.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with INGOs in community mobilization approaches and management of projects.
  • Previous experience in managing a team as well as extensive project management skills.
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability,
  • Experience of data collection and community training to develop their CAP, and other related views tasks,
  • Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills.
  • Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff.
  • Experience in representation, including sector coordination, and ability to represent effectively in external forums.
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessments and project reports.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong influencing skills and experience in advocacy
  • A high level of written and spoken English is crucial for this position.
