 Background:

Execute administrative and finance related tasks and follow up of project accountancy to support the Project Finance Manager following MSF standard and procedures, in order to ensure legal compliance and keep a strict control over monetary resources to achieve project objectives



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Implement cash management procedures to ensure the highest level of control and security.
  • Assist the Project Finance Manager with monthly treasury forecasting and planning to cover daily needs, salary advances, payroll, etc.
  • Process supplier payments and maintain accurate documentation, informing the Project Finance Manager of any discrepancies.
  • Carry out accounting tasks including classification, preparation, and filing of all accounting pieces in accounting software.
  • Monitor expiring rental contracts and notify the Administration Manager in time to arrange renewal or alternatives.
  • Make administrative information available to staff (e.g. postings, meetings).
  • Translate documents and assist in meetings as requested by the Finance Coordinator.
  • Perform any other administrative tasks delegated by the Finance Coordinator.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • Keep the accountancy software up to date.
  • Ensure correct allocation of expenses by account and cost center.
  • Support the project team with bank payments.
  • Facilitate interactions with external partners (banks, tax office, NGOs, etc).
  • Conduct weekly and monthly cash counts.
  • Export and share FFC data with Accountant manager applying corrections as needed.
  • Scan and archive documents in SharePoint.
  • Manage and reconcile staff advances.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential Criteria

 

Education:

  • Diploma or degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or other relevant field, obtained within the last 5–7 years.

Languages: 

  • Fluency in English and Arabic and English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge & Skills:
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Strong computer literacy (Excel, Word, Internet).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage cash handling and maintain confidentiality.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience (voluntary or paid) in finance, admin, or accounting, preferably in NGOs or similar roles.
  • Training or certification in financial/accounting software or NGO finance.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Winbooks, FFC) or digital filing systems (e.g., SharePoint)
