SOS Children’s Villages Sudan is looking for a motivated and proactive professional WASH Officer to support the implementation of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) activities in Kassala and Red Sea States. This entry-level role is ideal for a young professional seeking hands-on experience in humanitarian WASH programming and contributing to improved health and well-being of displaced and host communities.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation
  • Support hygiene promotion, latrine construction/rehabilitation, and water system improvements.
  • Assist in community mobilization and hygiene awareness sessions.
  • Monitor distribution and use of hygiene kits and water containers.
  • Participate in technical assessments and site visits.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Collect field data and assist in the preparation of WASH activity reports.
  • Support post-distribution monitoring and community feedback sessions.
  • Maintain records of infrastructure and services delivered.
  • Coordination and Communication
  • Liaise with community leaders, service providers, and partner organizations.
  • Coordinate hygiene campaigns and training logistics.
  • Ensure integration of WASH activities with other sectors like Protection and FSL.
  • Administrative and Logistical Support
  • Help process procurement requests and follow up on deliveries.
  • Support planning for meetings, field visits, and capacity-building sessions.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in WASH or humanitarian programming (NGO experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with emergency WASH principles and rural fieldwork.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Basic reporting and data collection abilities.
  • Fluency in Arabic and basic English proficiency.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other digital tools
