SOS Children’s Villages Sudan is seeking a Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Officer to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of FSL activities for internally displaced persons and host communities. This role plays a vital part in promoting resilience, food security, and self-reliance among vulnerable populations.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation
  • Lead FSL activities including food assistance, agricultural inputs, vocational training, and income generation.
  • Conduct community mobilization and needs assessments.
  • Identify and support vulnerable households through tailored interventions.
  • Oversee the timely distribution of seeds, tools, or cash assistance and monitor usage.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Assist in developing M&E tools and gathering data to support adaptive learning.
  • Conduct post-distribution monitoring and market assessments.
  • Coordination and Collaboration
  • Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations.
  • Represent SOS in FSL coordination forums and ensure integrated approaches with WASH and Protection teams.
  • Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare progress reports, success stories, and maintain accurate project records.
  • Administrative and Technical Support
  • Support procurement, logistics, and technical guidance for FSL activities

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Development Studies, or related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in FSL programming in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Knowledge of food security assessments, market systems, and cash-based interventions.
  • Experience working with displaced or vulnerable rural populations.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and working knowledge of English.
  • Skilled in MS Office and digital tools.
