Established in 1949, SOS Villages International (CVI) is a dynamic international social development and humanitarian organization operating globally to meet the needs and protect the rights and interests of children without parental care and those at risk of losing it.

The Eastern and Southern Africa (ESAF) region of SOS CVI is headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and has a branch office in Nairobi. It includes member associations (MAs) in Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia/Somaliland, Djibouti, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Namibia, Mauritius, Angola, and Madagascar. 

SOS Children’s Villages Sudan is seeking a results-driven and strategic Institutional Partnership and Development (IPD) Coordinator to lead and manage the organization’s institutional fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, building relationships with donors and partners, managing grants, and supporting strategic growth aligned with organizational priorities.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Institutional Fundraising and Donor Relations
  • Identify and pursue funding from bilateral, multilateral, and international donors.
  • Develop high-quality proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, embassies, and international stakeholders.
  • Lead donor communications and ensure timely reporting.
  • Donor Contract Management
  • Oversee grant compliance, including contract negotiations and documentation.
  • Manage contracts through the ProDIGI system and ensure financial/programmatic compliance.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Program teams on donor reporting.
  • Strategy Development and Capacity Building
  • Develop and implement the national IPD strategy.
  • Monitor donor trends and advise on strategic funding opportunities.
  • Build internal staff capacity in fundraising, proposal writing, and compliance.
  • Provide technical support on project design using Log Frames and RBM methodologies.
  • Partnership Building and Representation
  • Establish and strengthen partnerships with NGOs, UN agencies, and government bodies.
  • Represent the organization in donor forums, coordination meetings, and strategic events.
  • Support consortium building and manage due diligence processes.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or International Relations. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in institutional fundraising and donor contract management.
  • Proven track record in winning grants (minimum USD 2 million).
  • In-depth knowledge of Child Protection, Education, Health, and Livelihoods programming.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Skilled in MS Office and donor systems (e.g., ProDIGI).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
